What's the worst thing you ever did during a driving lesson/test? Crash? Go the wrong way up a one-way street? This young lady ran over and killed her mother.

I almost failed to negotiate a tight bend in a rural lane, almost. Tell us your stories of L-plate horror.

Never had any issues. First lesson the instructor thought I was advanced enough to book the test so went ahead and did it, 2 1/2 weeks later I was submitting forms for my full license.

The first time I sat my test, there was a second guy in the back seat examining the examiner. There was no way I was going to pass.

The next time I sat the test, I got the same examiner, drove a lot worse but he passed me. <grr>

Went round a corner and kept the steering wheel in the same position. Almost ended up in someone's front garden.

During my 1st driving test I overtook a bus on a hill without signalling. The bastard failed be even though I showed my bravery while driving so I should have got a commendation.

I failed the ****er 3 times and broke my arm falling down the stairs the Saturday night before my 4th test. It was a nightmare that cost me a couple of grand. Easy. The first time I took a couple of Valium to calm my nerves and drove with one hand on the wheel like I didn't have a care in the world. Second time he told me to put the fog lights on as it was a bit dim, I forgot untill we had just went out the gate and I was too scared to put them on late, spent the whole test scared stiff thinking that would fail me and made loads of mistakes (not putting the fog lights on wouldn't have failed me I found out). Third time was in the wrong lane approaching a roundabout, crossed lanes and he gave me a major. 4th time broken are and 5th passed. Any bastard who cruised through it at their first attempt. I hate you.

I think I'll pass 1st time no problem. Turn up nervous and you might as well not bother doing the test. I've been driving my birds motor about and I'm better than her no problem (she is a woman after all). She can't reverse park or parallel park <doh>

She picked me up in Glasgow not long after passing her test and she had a nervous breakdown. She kept stalling and ended up sitting at traffic lights greeting <laugh>

There are a lot of people at my work who can't reverse park. The amount of people who have to park on the street because car park spaces get taken up two at a time is huge <grr>

Since I started lessons whenever we go to the shops I reverse park once we get there. She doesn't realise that it's probably harder reversing out a space with cars going past quick in your blind spot.

My instructor had to use a hire car for my lessons at first and he was amazed by the cruise control. He got to 30, turned on the cruise control and put his feet up on the dash to show how good it was <yikes> I was ****ing myself <laugh>

Cruise control is for lazy gits who can't maintain a constant speed. All I need are the basic features - a decent engine, clutch, brakes, gear box and accelerator.

Backed my dad's bedford rascal into a stantion in the tescoes car park.

Frankly if the woman was stood behind a car backing up, no matter who was driving then she was an idiot.
