Oh yeah it was definitely a penalty, and you're spot on, both sides were garbage. If that's our competition then we're looking good for automatic promotion.
The main problem, as always for me, is if there is a slow start and they are up for it from the off and get an early goal. We can still win but it obviously makes it tougher. Bruce doesn't always get the team fired up at the start. Huddlestone might make even more of an effort when he realises it's a TV match and a shop window. If Diame really does want to stay that's great news. If him and Dawson stay we should be set, barring any big injury blows.
In my opinion when Huddlestone played last season the other midfield players relied on him, he was given the ball and expected to do something with it. This season the entire midfield has confidence both on the ball and going forward which takes a lot of pressure off Tom. If the others can carry on playing as they have this season then Tom will fit right in there and be able to show us his class but if they revert back to their old ways he'll be under pressure again and might struggle to make an impact.
For all his faults, Bruce doesn't have a history of changing a winning team. In fact it's arguably been a fault in the past that he's been reluctant to change and then acknowledged fatigue and the need to rotate in hindsight after a bad result, but rarely acted upon it. I wouldn't expect any more than the one enforced change tomorrow.
I think most of us would prefer Hayden for Meyler as the only change, but it looks almost certain that it will be Huddlestone. As PLT says, there's unlikely to be any changes other than the forced one.
