One major factor was missing when he came to Leeds United...............Peter Taylor. Was he really that great a manager?

I also suggest you check what Don Revie did with Leeds United, from the very start to his departure to manage England.

Read what I posted, he aspired to achieve what Revie achieved not to be like him. They were totally different characters.

Well you can't blame all the part time fans you have from staying away and watching it on the telly, rather than stumping the ridiculous prices you pay to get into Bellend Road every week. £31 for a ticket is a piss take. They must be suffering from open wallet surgery in Wessieland. Bates on the other hand must be loving it.

Not at all, considering Leeds population are all sat at home on match days, it makes perfect sense to televise their games.

At this moment in time Leeds are weaker than there were last season, if they lose Snodgrass and/or Gradel they'll be significantly weaker, but there's five weeks of the window left and it's the team that starts the season that will matter. I certainly wouldn't swap squads as things currently stand and it doesn't look like Papa Smurf is going to splash the cash, so until things change, I'll go for City to finish higher.

What was your average home attendance? What was your away following like while we're at it?

What makes you think we are weaker than last season, we got rid of johnson and kilkenny who were nothing special and admittedly schmeichal was a shock to the fans but both keepers have done very well in pre-season and if we get stockdale, we have a considerably better keeper than last season not to mention brown being an actual central midfielder rather than johson who just played there

Because it's nothing to do with a worldwide fanbase who funnily enough can't make it to ER every week. I'm honestly getting a bit sick of threads trying to wind us up then you call us scum when we try to debate your points. Facts are we are bigger than you now, not just in the past, we haven't (so far at least) lost any quality players and I can only see the possibility of one (who can be easily replaced from within the squad) going and I think you lot will do quite well also.

    Goodbye <ok>.

The point I'm making is that Clough didn't want Revie's success through cheating.
Leeds fans are very proud of their trophies, fair enough, but you never confront the cheating accusation made by everyone at the time and since.

No point mentioning Revie, his bung era was at a different club, the one that Bates scrapped.

The current Leeds has only existed a few years, since the Football Authorites bent their rules to let you stay with us.
Current Leeds have no trophies at all, they're just MKDons lite.

Can you clarify the cheating accusations, if you're referring to the bungs, BB took these accusations to court and won the case.

Maybe you know of some other claims.

Obviously Mr Clough was squeaky clean in all his dealings, the motorway services must have made a fortune out of him the number of "business meetings" he would arrange at them. He made Harry Redknapp look like Mother Theresa!

    21,169 and 1404, hope this helps. <ok>

Your away following is very good by the way, it's just your home that lets you down, 27,299 is rather pissy for a city the size of Leeds.

All of which is completely academic, as the question posed was not who's the biggest, who's got the best away support, who's got the most trophies, it was simply, who'll finish higher in the league this season?

Billy Bremner took some comments to Court, but far, far from all the allegations. In fact some challenged Revie to take them to Court at the time they made precise allegations and Revie declined.

Leeds: Lowest percentage of fans from the Clubs home area. One of if not the lowest supports per head of population.

You know as well as I do that he wasn't referring to bungs. It was the cheating on the pitch that Leeds were infamous for and don't try and justify it by talking about dirty players from other teams, because in an era of hard men Leeds were known as thugs.
