How much blame should people that embrace multiculturalism share? What's your solution - go round and ask everyone who is 2nd or 3rd generation British exactly how British they feel and then chuck them out if you don't like the answer? What about anyone who arrives who isn't waving a union jack? What about, say, 2nd or 3rd generation Frenchmen? What about tourists - do you want to use some sort of colour chart to determine who can even visit the country? I really hope you're completely pissed up because, if not, you could sharpen your wits by banging your head against a wall repeatedly. Still, you've solved immigration - just stick Peter "fascist prick" Damage's best quotes on a poster at airports and nobody will come near (and a good few will want out).
Well it seems that France, Russia, USA, and us (probably) are going to take ISIS apart. You can never beat an ideology but listening to some of the military people today they will certainly take many of them out. Would hate to be in Syria/Iraq in the future.
Well if you read my previous post properly you would see I suggested slowing immigration massively. To put a figure on it requires in depth analysis, but I would say stager it down towards 80-90% less than it is now and those that come in must have skills we need. Doctor come in fine, bloke who ends up working in kfc, no Immigration should not be looked at in purely short term economic terms Because people have come from different countries in such large numbers they haven't necessarily needed to assimilate as is healthy for society. This is particularly acute with those of a different religion. So by embracing separate cultures and separate communities an unintentional by-product is is people searching for an identity turning to extreme ideologies. Multi-culturalism is one part of a complex situation but it is one part of it. What is also a part of it is someone like yourself who rather than raising reasoned points to counter or offering any other solution's (not just don't hate- or we need to talk... to who I don't know) instead shouts down a calls someone raising a point a "fascist prick" I could call you all kinds of names instead but avoiding reasoned debate and analysis of the problems we truly face is exactly what you are afraid of
Action Reaction Action Reaction If you look at the entire picture since the West took action in the Middle East there has been what ... Reaction The left currently looking weak granted as this current reaction is emotive after loss of life in our back garden. I believe this circle pattern has to be smashed before any norm is achieved. Short term people will return to normal life ... Just watch Black Friday next week if you think I am wrong then Xmas our biggest religious festival ... Which is now what exactly? We are now in a time that the very threat we contributed to is presenting the bill and our answer is to throw more bombs because we have cut back on resources on the ground to go head to head ... Plus also on the ground we don't even understand who we are fighting So us joe public have to not only cope with these awful things but we have the double whammy of not being able to do much about it ... Until the next reaction that is All this does add to fear and I believe it's the one thing we mustn't fear Get pass that and it's looks clearer IMO You cut off the heads of all these little snakes you will never be sure of extinction ... Not ever but this pending action has to be questioned IMO because we will always remain a soft target. If we do smash it all up then I believe super hard measures are required and a harder firmer left required and that will prove to a action that provokes a reaction I doubt many can handle in what we call a free society. ID cards in now using mobile technology controlling very aspect of a citizen. I am sure this has to come and much tougher policing in the UK back to the point when I remember fear was there if you stepped out of line. What we have now is a society in the UK that wants to own everything ... Not just things but instances ... Take 5 minutes to listen to a group of youth or observe in your business or work place People yapping about what ... Themselves all in competition It's a game of trumps It's the fluff that is killing us IMO
Reading your post properly, you don't only just suggest cutting immigration. You talk about the problems of 2nd or 3rd generation Muslims, suggest that their lack of feeling British (by whatever criteria you determine) is a latent cause of extremism. You also say that anyone who condemns multiculturalism is responsible, in part, for recent UK terrorist activity. So, we should have been condemning multiculturalism for 3 generations to be blame free? Furthermore, the implication you make is that extremism is already here so why stop immigration now? What would be the point? You've offered no genuine ideas more than spouting hate at Muslims and anyone left of you. You call for people to engage in reasoned conversation while applying condemnation, in fairly absolute terms, with anyone with a slightly different viewpoint. Lastly, you say that avoiding reasoned debate and analysis is what I'm afraid of which I assume you didn't intend but are simultaneously calling for me to read it properly. Try coherent, reasoned debate with an acknowledgment of grey areas and you might get further.
Military official has confirmed 3 dead after gunmen srormed Mali hotel and took 170 hostages in an apparent terror attack.Security sources say Mali hotel gunmen have freed some hostages including those able to recite verses of the Koran! It's becoming a daily thing, not just in Europe.
Softer targets. Agree with some comments that we will not kill all of them. However they have been bombing and attacking us for years even before we ever went into Iraq/Afghanistan. As long as they all know that they are going to lose a lot of members that will do for me. For too long we have sat back watching them take the P out of us. Take the case of that prat Abu Hamza and how long it took to sort him out? Now we know it will be swift and quick to deport idiots like him. I would go further and deport anyone who does anything like that. Keep an eye on the newspapers where every so often you will see a small story drone kills someone/somewhere or Known terrorist accidentally throws himself off a building. That will tell you the French/US are taking them out.
The problem with Tebbit's "Cricket test" is that is completely hypocritical. How many ex-pats and their families would support Australia, India, Pakistan, West Indies and South Africa ? In fact, the Barmy Army make it quite clear how much they support England and none of the host countries seem to mind. How many Brits speak the language of the countries that they have emigrated to, we are famously reluctant to try and often expect them to speak English. I have lived in Southampton for most of my life, but I was born in Devon and I am very proud of my West Country roots so it is natural that immigrants will be proud of their culture.
Tebbit's cricket test was as barmy as he was. As someone who grew up in Brixton in the 50s and 60s I remember whenever there was a test match at the Oval we'd all be there and the banter between the two sides was brilliant, it made the occasion so much more. I remember swigging rum with one of my West Indian mates at one test and I was about 15, back when Gary Sobers was the cricket superstar. I wouldn't expect this generation to be any different, it's what makes us...
Its your obsession with generalisations that means you believe I’m talking about latent extremism. Nope not at all. I can give you specific recent examples; Junaid Hussain, Reyaad Khan, Ruhul Amin. All British citizens specifically assassinated by British or American drone strikes. If you remove the wool from your eyes you’ll see that isn’t latent extremism. For me to be clear, I am talking about generations of supporters of multi-culturalism (remember to avoid writing a dissertation in each post I have narrowed it down to one specific subject as an example: multiculturalism). You ask what would be the point extremism here already, so why change policy now? Well my answer to that is to turn the tide. And stop the poisoning future generations. If you cant see that we need action the your entrenched opinions held by you and others of the same opinion are seriously dangerous to the lives of those in this country. Especially in London. My evidence for this hundreds if not thousands of British men and women of varying backgrounds are going to Iraq and Syria to join ISIS, with others still here (Mohammed Rehman Sana Ahmed Khan just this week convicted of plotting a 7/7 anniversary attack at Westfield, only a stones throw from Loftus Road to tie it in to effecting people on this forum even more succinctly). And many thousands more possibly hundreds of thousands with varying degrees of sympathy who agree with that view point. Again more evidence for my opinion: A survey showed 6% of British Muslims that if they knew someone from the Muslim community was planning an act of violence would not report them to the police. 27% of Muslims surveyed had sympathy for the motives of the Charlie Hebdo attacks. (Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/rel...sympathise-with-Charlie-Hebdo-terrorists.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31293196) All this framed with the attacks in Paris, the bombs on the tube in the past, the many foiled attacks (again this week to emphasise at Westfield white city guilty verdict) each year, the Brits going to ISIS and returning with military training and desensitisation to violence. To me is indsputiable evidence something needs to be done. So while I focused on one specific step to be taken in better controlling immigration to avoid repeats in the medium to long term. Again your opinion smacks of short termism, defeatsism and generally having your head in the sand. Also find it quite revealing that you devoted all this energy to irrationally screaming down my solution but offering no alternative solutions of your own despite being repeatedly asked to.
Just so I understand your point of view. In the light of the events in Paris and our own reasonably linked worries about radicallised Muslim Brits taking actions to murder other Brits at football matches, café’s or out shopping, why is it relevant that an English bloke moving to Australia might still support England? Just to expand that point you surely agree it unlikely that by 3 generations down the line his kids will very much likely identify as and support Australia A lot of people in my industry move to Singapore and while they vast majority don’t try and learn Malay or Mandarin so far I’m not aware of any of them trying to randomly murder the general populations for reasons of commitment to their English identities. So again I am confused by the relevance of this point and again I’m still genuinely interested to hear solutions from those with a left leaning view point
Oh man, does anyone know the Mali National Anthem or do you think its far enough away for us not to be too bothered?
Ahh maybe you and all the other ‘tragedy hipsters’ can go and play the Mali national anthem while watching a football match in Burkina Faso. Quite strange you cant see the distinction but its sad so many of you self-righteous tragedy hipsters exist. Here is an amazing fact. The most read article on the BBC website on Sunday. Two days after the Paris attack… it was an article written in April about an al-Shabaab attack killing 147 at a Kenyan university after the Corbynistas took to twitter and Facebook with faux outrage and crass insensitivity and circulated the article
"Self righteous, tragedy hipster", wow, thats a new one for me but then again I don't read the Daily Mail. You're absolutely right of course, people have the right to and always will feel some acts of violence more acutely than others. Whether thats for geographical or personal reasons, doesn't really matter. This 24 page thread on a football forum is evidence of that. I was merely taking the piss a little, I thought the way the FA and English football fans reacted on Tuesday night was excellent and a wonderful show of solidarity with our French neighbours. However, I also think playing La Marseillaise before every game this weekend is going too far, a minutes silence would and should be adequate to honour the victims of last week.
I'm absolutely shocked by the loss of children's lives seen in the pictures caused by the French bombing. Unbelievable
Why am I reading racist nonsense like this on a football website. Mods get this nutter off the boards.
