I agree and am not a huge fan of Lovren but at this point I'm hoping the new system gets the best out of him. I don't hold out much hope as Lovren and Skrtel have been tried before and it'snot pretty, lets hope the system and the manager can work some magic.
Yep - we haven't got a choice unfortunately and I'm sure we can see some improvement. But long term - just get rid. He's not good enough and he won't improve up to an acceptable level for this club.
The same Martin Skrtel who's played over 400 professional games (230 odd in the Prem and 77 for his country). The same Skrtel who's captained his country on numerous occasions and been their player of the year 4 years out of the last seven (and was voted ours only a few years ago)? Pretty sure if you tried to hold Skrtel's hand he'd eat you for breakfast mate All Skrtel needs is a decent partner not a bloody nanny....Lovren unfortunately doesn't look anywhere near the decent partner (unless Kloppy can get something extra out of him).
I said he doesn't need his hand holding, I didn't claim he's a leader. What Skrtel isn't great at is having to hold someone else's hand....but if we want to be a top team he shouldn't have to really should he? Surely it's up to the manager to get the best out of Lovren...not whoever his defensive partner happens to be.
Sakho is better than both of them, real shame he picked up the injury as he was having a good run of form, same with ings and gomez, both started to impress and then crocked. #curse #conspiracy
I'll be ****ting myself tomorrow every time City get corner or a free kick in our half. Skrtel, to a great extent, and Lovren, absolutely, are piss awful at defending such scenarios. Skrtel just wants to grab the player and Lovren ball watches. Throw in Moreno standing dilatory on the corner of the six-yard box, and it's all down to Cline. Think Benteke will spending most of the game in our box.
I see Kloppo thinks Lovren understands "the basics" of defending, he has no problem with playing him against the best attack in the country right now. Maybe some of you are missing something in his game?
he doesn't have other options does he, so hardly going to say lovren is ****e so doesn't perform is he, trying to get the best out of him what he can and wont achieve that by saying he thinks hes crap. you try to hard, dont give up your day job ffs.
Understands basic.. but cannot apply it. Klopps would not like to put him under pressure needs to let him down gently.
Its now or never really for Lovren. At least he knows because of injuries he's not in competition for his place. He just needs to focus and play and try and work into some form. I don't particularly rate him - the saints lads say he was good because he had great cover next and in front of him. Personally I hope he adds some value by playing well then we can sell him.
