GT football was more open and attacking eh......... now we play more defensively... so difficult to mix and match for me.....

GT era team still has most of my best ever WFC players..... Time will tell.... this squad looks good

For all that many of these players have been our favourites surely the only ones that we can choose are those that were successful in the top flight. If we can choose them when they were at their prime, rather than when they were playing for us, some of Vialli's team should be included. Pat Jennings was better after he left us.

As for the strikers, I can't help wondering how Cliff Holton would have done in the current team. He made TD look small but was surprisingly nimble. Frenchie could tell us more.

Big Cliff will always be in my team, as he was this time. I also wonder how he would do these days with the lighter ball. A freekick outside of the area and the whole of the Vic would anticipate a thunderbolt and goal coming up. He was not the quickest off the mark, but after he had got into his stride he was quick, and because of his build defenders would just bounce off him. Many thought he should have been a regular in the England team, but it is often forgotten he was only a part time player at Watford.
