Did a quick visit to the supermarket yesterday and noticed that the shelves are being prepared for the festive season. They are still empty, but will shortly be filled with chocolate. No decorations yet, no jingle bells over the tannoy, but it will not be long before the adverts start to appear on French TV. When I was last over in the UK the decorations were going up in the garden centres and that was September. I noticed a French news item today say that the average family will spend close on €200 for food at Christmas, with foie gras, coquilles Saint-Jacques and chocolates being the most popular items. They didn't give a figure for the drink that will be bought, but the total spend for our average family with two children will be about €550.
Morning all, it is mild, but damp here in this neck of the woods, and seems it will continue like it all day. I really hope that we do not see anymore bloodshed in Paris today.
Good grief! I do sometimes wonder how they think they will make money out of these things as I cannot see this being a big seller. Still, at least it's focussing on players rather than local streets and places of interest. Tempting to think of the Watford equivalents of Old Kent Road and Mayfair.....

Who is in place of Old Kent Road? I hope it isn't a current player - he would never live that down. My heart bleeds . It's 1.45 in the morning for me. I think that is better than the usual 4 a.m. but I'm not sure.
Agreed to a number of things Saturday to ensure I would be here for 4.00 pm. Do not mention Sky to me. Looks as if I will be trying at great expense to keep up with my mobile phone.
Mild and damp here, but have some inside work planned for today. There are a couple of decent articles in the WO today about GFZ and Troy Deeney. What a nice man GFZ is.

I haven't seen this mentioned on here, but think it is well worth some attention. http://www.watfordfc.com//news/arti...-nic-cruwys-fundraising-campaign-2806538.aspx
It certainly is - good for him and very well deserved. It's also worth remembering that his efforts would have been in vain if nobody had contributed - the generosity of people towards those in adversity or less well of than themselves never fails to impress..
I don't know about the rest of you but this really warms the cockles of my heart. Well played Ollie, you are an amazing young man!
I think I get to like our head coach a little bit more each day. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp..._rest_of_the_world__To_live_in_peace/?ref=rss
