There was a nightclub in Bangor called the Octagon. The above sentence would be appropriate there too.

I'd love to see you face a few overs against Michael Holding in his pomp......first explaining to him that he's not 'athletic' <whistle>

I didn't say you had to be unathletic... Just that you didn't have to have to be athletic.

Such an athletic build and considered one of the best...

I could go on all day posting pictures of fat internationals. Point is. Cricket is about technique not athleticism. Athleticism not needed... More akin to darts than UFC.

All modern day cricketers are ****e. Modern day cricket is ****e.

Botham in a UFC match against Flintoff would be a good bout though...

I think Flintoff might win that. Botham must be pretty old by now.

What would be an interesting experiment. Gather a group of top athletes from 9 various "sports". Example:

    Football,
    Rugby,
    Cricket,
    Darts,
    Motor-racing,
    Snooker,
    Tennis,
    Boxing or UFC,
    Golf

And then play each of the 9 sports (only you don't compete in your own sport)... So 8 teams in each competition so can do knock outs. See how the various "athletes" from each discipline do at the other sports.

    Just for curiosity sake.

I suspect Rugby players might be the most successful at cross over sports but not sure.

    Tremlett, I wouldn't say he isn't athletic.

Bet he would be fairly good across that range. Most sportsmen are good at other sports, I would say formula one drivers would also be good at the their sports

I remember some psychologists/doctors doing a study that revealed snooker players have higher stress levels while requiring concentration than f1 drivers...obviously didn't do study including our Alex lol..

Surely they'd all be good at golf...its all other sportsmen do in their time off from their profession!

Is that because they have more time to dwell over an issue? Snooker Players have to concentrate and analyse best way to do something. F1 drivers have to make split second decisions without time to dwell on them.

Of course drivers do have some decisions which arnt split second... Change tyres now or in a few laps?

Its called 'Peep' but poop would definitely be more accurate.

You're only as young as you feel, saint, maybe you should get back into the nightclubs and you'd feel like a new man. Either that or you'd get put on some sort of list <laugh>
