    Article on MOTD running order

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/nov/19/match-of-day-careful-wish-bbc

Quite interesting if not that surprising ... particularly the point that Everton, Stoke City, Tottenham and West Bromwich Albion share the dubious honour of being on last the most times – three each. I suspect that this boils down to the less than scintilating football that most creditable pundits believe they generally aspire to <whistle>

  2. For us, we're only on last if we've played a ****e/average side.

Given the abundance of young English talent that we have (Dier, Walker, Rose, Mason, Alli, Townsend, Kane - the list is endless), you'll be seeing us being promoted up the running order, that's for certain.
    <ok>

    We're the neutral's favourite team.

... the list is not endless ... it is quite obviously seven! <doh> ... and I suspect we have a far more credible shout for being the neutral's favourite team currently <whistle>...

It's because they focus on Top 4 and relegation candidates. They currently don't see us as creditable top 4 contenders and so we are (along with the other teams you mention) considered to be mid table. Given we have been 5-7 for god knows how long, I think it is a strange view. Hopefully we'll be able to change that over the rest of the season.

  5. I'd use my "fishing trawler" image, at this point, Fossil, but it relates to my expertise in Gooner-fishing, and it would only confuse people.

Please don't force me to produce a "Foxes" image! I will cripple you with my mirth!

BBFs Unpopular View and PINKIE like this.
  7. If I had a chipolata, instead of a jumbo battered sausage, I might have been hurt by your words, Fossil. As it is, I am able to laugh along with you, my "appendage" carefully strapped in place, as it always is.

If it's covered in batter, you should go to that clinic you frequent to have it looked at!

I saw this earlier, within the story about Chelsea's 'Soap Opera' being on first five times so far and Chelsea losing all five games. The BBC head of football said it was deliberate because Chelsea and Mourinho's demise is so fascinating, so I assumed that the running order was based on popular topical issues over the actual excitement of the football played. But it also stands that the teams on later in the schedule were also those who had played the more boring games with less shots and goals. So those teams like Spurs, Everton, West Brom and Stoke deserve their place as the PL's yawn inducing clubs.

Everton, Stoke, Tottenham and West Brom share being on last the most times.

Each club has closed the show on three occasions, while Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Leicester, Crystal Palace and Sunderland have never been on last.

Of the 12 show-closing games to date, seven have ended goalless with an average of 0.66 goals per game, far short of the 4.33 goals per game averaged in the opening game.

I've practically retired from 'owning' HIAG, as he simply walks into his own wum fails these days without any prompting from me <ok>

Not really, because, like your fish picture etc, it demonstrates when you've got no comeback. Fossil is rinsing you on here and I'm simply sitting back and watching you getting rinsed <laugh>

How many threads is that over the last couple of weeks that you've been owned on ? Somebody get on the phone to Norris McWhirter !
