Well The Christopher Reeve Superman films and Helen Slater as Supergirl are what first introduced me to Superheroes as a kid, so I have a soft spot for them. Shame there hasn't been a good Superman film since Superman II. Superman Returns was pretty mediocre and Man Of Steel was utter **** on a whole new level. Even Michael Shannon putting in a great performance as Zod couldn't save it. Superman II is still my favourite Superman film. Supergirl (the 80's one) wasn't great, but Helen Slater was gorgeous in it and did really well in the role, her naivity towards human cruelty when she first lands on Earth was so endearing. Just a shame the movie was pretty bad.
I'm so over superhero movies. When they were rare they were good... Now theres multiple every year I'm sick of them.
Same for me but as a kid, any superhero is awesome. My kids love Ironman, Hulk, Captain America, Flash, Arrow, etc because that's what is on TV nowadays. Loved the 80s Supergirl and watched it many times but that was probably more to do with Helen Slater than the film
Same here. I remember liking it as a kid and then watched it as an adult and thinking....."hmmmm this is pretty gash". Helen Slater is still lovely in it though, perfect casting choice, just a shame the movie blew. I like the Avengers movie. Thing with Superhero movies that I don't get is why people are moaning there are too many There are good ones and bad ones, the Marvel ones that have been coming out in the last 5 years have all been very good imo. Not a single bad one yet. As far as DC goes, their TV stuff has been spot on, but their first foray into movies in Man of Steel was a complete failure imo, and I doubt I will watch the next one with Ben Affleck as Batman. Though Suicide Squad looks like it might be decent? (Plus Margot Robbie as Harlequinn )
I'll still watch it but suspect it'll be poor too. He didn't do DareDevil any justice. I actually liked Man of Steel, same with the Batman Dark Knight movies. I'll never get bored of superhero films / programmes, I just think some a poor just like with regular movies.
Dont make me drive to Liverpool and slap you It was godawful!! To each his own tho..... The Bale Batman movies got worse as they went on. Batman begins I quite liked. Dark Knight meandered and was too drawn out, but it was partially redeemed by a great performance from Heath Ledger as the Joker. Dark Knight Rises, like Man of Steel, was painful to watch, too long, and just downright ****.
You can drive to Liverpool if you want dude I thought Christian Bale was very good, I'd say he's the best Batman we've had.
He was good. I'd probably give the nod to Michael Keaton though. Batman Returns is my favourite Batman film, Tim Burton is great at Gothic tones in his movies (sometimes it's even a little too much to bear), but it doesn't get more Gothic than Gotham, it even has "Goth" in its name. Plus Michelle Pfeiffer as Cat woman!! Meeooow please log in to view this image
Halle Berry was hot as Cat Woman but that was a bad movie. Even compared to other superhero movie s that was a bad movie.
Speaking of, ahem, superhero movies. Zoolander 2 is apparently going to have Benedict Cumberbatch playing a hermaphrodite super model.
