Awareness must be a massive thing to consider worldwide Attack any religion where direct suicide is considered normal The trouble there is if we are all Darwin now as the clever people think we are you only have to look at nature to see the same thing happening every second Ultimate sacrifice everywhere I say this because I believe all life forms share this planet
A major operation has taken place to raid an apartment in Saint Denis in Northern Paris, where several suspects including the alleged mastermind of the Paris attacks were believed to be holed up.A French government spokesman says the raid is over and the area is being secured.Police say 2 people have died during the raid, including a woman who detonated her suicide vest.French media reports the other person was a suspect killed by a police sniper.Police say 7 people have been arrested and 5 police officers have been slightly injured during the raid!
It's now being reported that the terrorists in this raid were planning attacks on Charles de Gaulle airport and a shopping Centre in La Défense.
With the greatest of respect to all who have lost their lives or been injured so far, now that Putin is pissed off we might actually get somewhere since an alliance with the West and an angry Russia represents a formidable force and, perhaps more importantly in this war, intelligence that will lead to more raids like today's.
Here's a very good and comprehensive article on this mornings events ... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ks-Paris-suburb-anti-terrorist-operation.html And here's the IED device that ISIS reckon bought down the Russian airliner. It seems abit basic and very crude. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...down-the-russian-plane-in-sinai-a6739311.html please log in to view this image
In the short term, this is the answer In the long term, we need decent and respected Muslim clerics that can persuade their young men that nowhere in the Koran as interpreted in the C21st is there an Allah-driven duty to devote their lives to taking war to the infidels - and then we just have to splice the short term with the long term... ...easy...
All it will lead to is a bum fight on the ground between USA and ruskys over the oil pipe lines ..... Afraid to say Isis will just be collateral damage ? Thoughts ?
To my amazement just heard an excellent Thought for the Day on the Today programme from Mona Siddiqui, Professor of Islamic Studies. A strong call for members of her faith to be active in confronting the trends which are turning her religion into a 'death cult' (her words). I'll try and find a link to it, worth listening to, only a couple of minutes long.
I watched the BBC news last night and was very taken with the French man who hate lost his wife and refused to show hate He didn't want to know the attackers as he believes where she has gone the ISIS members won't be welcome That very simple thing should be the core of any religion or belief and I hope it gets absorbed and acted upon However what makes our beliefs right to drop bombs but that is going to happen and we back it up with a word called legal Fear is the key from now on And to show it is wrong IMO IMO each day could be anyone's last and when the itemised bill comes in How much wasted unhappy time do we want on ours?
One of the most moving and remarkable things I have heard in many a year. Young Melvin is fortunate to have a Dad like that. Sincere condolences.
For those who can bear to watch this remarkable young man http://www.theguardian.com/world/vi...paris-victim-letter-attackers-video?CMP=fb_gu
I have heard this numerous times on the BBC in the last couple of days and it has brought tears to my eyes each time. What a noble man this is. I hope young Melvil lives to see the end of such barbarity in the name of religion.
Had been told about by a friend often accused by females of being The Tin man due to not having a heart. He told me he was crying over this, now I understand. Makes me want to hope there is a paradise of the free souls.
Powerful video, and it's invaluable to see how individual lives are adversely affected by such senseless acts of violence, otherwise it's easy to slip into thinking just of the number of dead without seeing the sad stories behind that number
Here is what the overwhelming majority of true Muslims feel about the atrocities....http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-tre...ng&ns_source=facebook&ocid=socialflow_twitter
The stupidity of the left astounds me. Their plan seems to be, do nothing differently, just don't hate or fear. Well who did the people at the Bataclan hate or fear. I don't think it was terrorists but guess what a lot of them are now dead. And your advice is don't hate or fear. That was all that Nick Clegg came up with in article I just read on tube home in Standard The other response popular on the left. All muslim's aren't terrorists, no, but all terrorists posing a genuine threat to life in the west are muslim's. You don't have to be a Muslim to be a terrorist but it helps... To do nothing is to invite repeats of the events in Paris. If your contribution's to this thread are do nothing, don't hate then you are part of th problem that allowed this situation to come about. Take practical steps, for example slow immigration massively. **** multi-cultural societies. Tebbit had it right with the cricket tests. Your English or you aint. If your 2nd or 3rd generation Muslim and you don't feel English but also your not quiet Bangladeshi, Pakistani or whatever then it shouldn't be a surprise that some young people in search of an identity turn to extreme religious groups. Supporters of mass immigration and multi-culturalism must share some of the responsibility for attacks in the past here and recognise their mistakes and actions needed to avoid repeats of Paris here
