However the companies that have sold out the boxes etc are helping to keep the cost of season tickets down for everybody else, the stadium has been built in order to generate more income in order to compete at the highest level attainable, I find it strange that the people who sneer about that are the first to be demanding players being bought on a daily basis during the transfer windows and yet demand tickets prices are as low as possible? It reminds me of socialism, the ones who pay the least are the noisiest in demanding the most in return.
No socialism is those who are fortunate enjoying their fortune but at the same time putting a fair share in a pot so that people who are less fortunate don't have to suffer poverty. The young can have an education and work towards building a career. The elderly can have their pensions and are rewarded for years of hard work. Young families can be supported so that children don't go to bed hungry. The more you earn the more you pay but you also have more money. But of course those with power are rich and greedy and so capitalism prevails where the richest pay less tax, the less fortunate are In poverty. The young are debt ridden and struggling, futures compromised. The elderly suffer and aren't rewarded for years of work. Young families sleep hungry. Of course the more you earn the more you pay but for money that would make negligible difference to the richest, or the absence of it to the taxman, many suffer.

So are you assuming that with fans demands for ever more expensive signings and wages, the companies that pay corporate prices for events etc are not underpinning season ticket prices, do you understand what sponsorship is? What I am saying is that if a market exists to build and sell private boxes then that's fair enough. What I am also saying is that in the modern business that is football, that revenue does not go to underpinning or subsidising other supporters ticket prices , it simply goes into the pot. A football club can never have enough money and charges whatever the market will stand.

Well, I think the Gate is really starting to take shape and become a stadium to be really proud of. Unlike many, this upgrade was always my favoured option over a relocation. It's City's spritual home and to see the revamp is amazing. I may be back in the UK for a wedding in March, so really want to get to the Gate and have a look.
Has anything ever been said officially about redeveloping the Atyeo stand or is it all down to houses on Ashton Road and a no-no?
When it was built they wanted it higher, but planning turned it down as it would intrude on light into the gardens of the houses behind. So for the time being it's the highest it can go, but as to rumours about buying the houses behind is really just rumours and speculation. I think they will be tidying it up a bit, but in my opinion if it becomes the away stand then the rest of the ground will be pretty imposing on it.
Its something to consider for the future, but we'll be needing constant premiership football to make it worth it
How are we going to consider it in the future? If we don't own those houses the only chance we have off persuading the council to allow us would be to change the direction of the sun.
