    Biofuel was the current topic at the time and how it causes food price increase etc. I just highlighted that other intensive farming methods were as much to blame and mentioned beef farming and use of farmland to produce food for feeding cattle and not humans.

    Cold weather/fuel poverty are a risk for older people and people not in the best of health, I fully agree. But to claim numbers picked out of thin air is crazy. This is also why I mentioned the risks in hot summer months to the elderly.

    There are detailed figures if you go look, 22,000 more in winter according to gov.uk much more than any other season. There's no more risks to the elderly in summer than any other age group so not sure what you mean here. :huh:

    That's not a figure of people who die as a result of fuel poverty though, it just means that more die in the winter it's not a detailed breakdown of from what specific cause. There's numerous reasons why more old dears pass on in the winter months than in any other season.

    However you look at it, one thing is for sure. He isn't shouting people down and claiming his opinion/view as pure fact.

    Right then sisu you fecking rimlicker, I posted this the other night after few drinks regarding people with condescending attitudes. On looking back I thought it was a bit harsh and also not really upto standard, but the last couple of days have just been rediculous and I feel its worth a repost

    ............Maybe the result of a lack of social understanding but also often a symptom of chronic low self esteem, typically as a result of childhood trauma such as physical, sexual or mental abuse by a parent or teacher. A coping method is then sought, these are often self destructive eg drink,drugs, alternative worlds with a different persona including mild psychosis. The coping method may be viewed as a positive such as a drive and determination to achieve in sport or business, one alternative coping method is a system of double think whereby a person self portrays as superior around a false truth despite being aware of the truth. This can allow them a certain amount of resilience, however, as the self worth is based upon what the person may view as their only positive attribute, they are likely to display defensive behaviours whenever they sense a threat to their self perceived standing, this can include aggression, venting, refusal to accept reality, power struggles and avoidance.

    So then sisu, was it your father or teacher that used to abuse you when your school work was not up to scratch?

    Yes I thought so as well when I first seen it sober but he just needs to realise that some of us can see through his nonsense and tone things down a bit.

    I actually had a lot of time for him as he is often ( not always ) on the right lines just that he goes at it in the wrong way. In fact his first meltdown with me was due to me agreeing with his point but adding that more would agree if he reigned in the rhetoric, that resulted in him trying to imply to everyone that I was a holocaust denier.
    So is it harsh, yes. However, tell me this do you think its harsh because you can see at least an element of truth in it?

    Traore was never as bad as media made but not sure he would ever qualify as a hero. Just seemed like a nice guy to me.

    I see him more aligned to this in fairness;

    http://www.urban75.org/info/conspiraloons.html

    What drives that psyche in him I wouldn't want to speculate, apart from the simple fact that cannabis creates a paranoid outlook and he smokes homegrown skunk.
