I don't mind that, it's something that gives you purpose and helps you decide who you want to be, yes you can do this from nothing but giving you that sense of responsibility is quite clever as it forces you to be good/bad parent and I wonder if the choices make a difference at some point.

As I said I don't fast travel in these game and I would recommend doing the same, it will take you forever to get to the end but it's a very rewarding way to play these type of games.

I will start saving toward an XBone I think, I have to get this game.

I was playing it last night and got sidetracked on my way to a mission (I rarely fast travel too, however once you see the size of this place I might have to!!). Anyway this sidetrack took me to a mission that I had to clear a load of bandits from a small town - it took over 4 hours!! It's so clever that you really have to use your weapons, crafting and aids wisely.

It was actually quite challenging as I had left most of my stuff at my home settlement in individual organised safes that I've crafted in the out building of my main house in 'Sanctuary'!!

It's one of those games where I'm constantly thinking WOW. Seriously impressed. #getit

One complaint I do have about Fallout 4 is the conversation choices. They don't really give much info into what you're going to say sometimes. Basically bottom choice is the 'good' choice, right is usually the bad, top is mostly a question and left is sarcastic/other.

I also find I have to fast travel as there's quite a bit of back and forth stuff, to manage and protect settlements etc. If you just walked back and forth you'd spend most your time walking through areas you've already cleared.

    In no particular order:
Fallout 2 although that might soon be overtaken by 4
    Skyrim
    Diablo 2
    Guild wars (1)
CoD: World at war - at it's peak I played it a huge amount and was in the best HQ clan in the world.
    Bioshock 1&2
    Deus Ex
    Planescape torment
    Half-life 2
    Star wars: KOTOR
    Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4
    Mass Effect 2

(I bet you can't guess what my favourite genre is)

The list could go on really as they all offer something different and I could pick any of them up and play them again. I've probably missed a game too that when I think of it I'll facepalm.

Never did get into Metro. It was OK but after a couple of hours or so I stopped playing and never picked it up again.

I thought it was very atmospheric and it got better as it went on, the first part of it is a bit frustrating as it's a bit different and so dark that I got annoyed with it. Like you I stopped playing but went back and now rate it as a great game one of the only games that had me jumping out of my skin at times as something appeared very quickly out of the dark. Don't bother with the follow up though.

I'm going to have to try Skyrim out. How does it still hold up? Is the UI dated or still good?

Still brilliant, get the legendary edition and don't fast travel and you'll still be going at it this time next year.

Do you fast travel to the last post, or read the whole thread again each time before posting?

Whole thing every time, stop quoting me as it's a bit time consuming.

Luckily they didn't post all the F1 stuff here too <whistle>

I used to thread bomb that thread and get angry geeks shout at me whilst pit-stopping

$40 for Skyrim and all DLCs. $20 for just Skyrim. I'll wait for the steam winter sale... Hopefully 50% or 75% off.

Skyrim on it's own is plenty to be getting on with tbh. Well worth 20 mega bucks.

Although not quite sure why it's double with all DLC? The vampire stuff on DLC is pretty insane though!

Probably worth the $20... But I do have a backlog of games to play from Humble-Bundle sales and Steam sales.

I almost never pay over $10 to $15 for a game anymore... Especially since I know most games will be 50-75% (frequently more) off in any given Steam sale.

I can wait until next month to save. Still got plenty of new games to try.

For those who don't know there's www.kinguin.net where you can get steam keys dirt cheap. Skyrim: Legendary edition is currently £8.78. The standard version is £3.54. They just mail you the CD key a few minutes after buying. Never had an issue and it's pretty much the only place I buy PC games these days as they're usually even cheaper than Steam sales. I got Fallout 4 on pre-order from there for £23
