.. perhaps he has already lost it ...

The call ups of Jesse Lingard and Ryan Mason, admittedly as injury replacements, appear to defy logic ...

Jesse has had a couple of decent games in United's first team and Ryan has only just returned from injury having done OK for Spurs this season but hardly grabbing any headlines ...

Contrast with the likes of Ward-Prowse at Southampton, Mark Noble at West Ham, Puncheon and Zaha at Palace and our own Messrs Drinkwater and Albrighton, all of whom have been having cracking seasons for their clubs ...

Woy's bias towards his favourite feeder clubs is surely filling the majority of the country's fans with underwhelming expectations and visions of further ignominious failure in France next summer?

Grow a pair please Woy ...

That would be to surmise that he was ever in possession of the plot to begin with....

I like Roy as a person and he's certainly been a decent manager but he was always an underwhelming choice.

I respect the fact he gives youth a chance but the big club bias is ridiculous. Lingaard call up has to be one of the most bizarre ones of recent times and almost degrades the importance and prestige of getting a call up.

As the OP says, less fashionable clubs like Leicester, West Ham and Palace are having cracking seasons yet their players are often over looked. I think stats wise, there are at least 5 English players in Lingaard's position that have performed better than him this year but not been called up.

In my view, he's hanging on to players like Rooney too long.

We have a decent crop of young players currently, I think he should try to build a team for the future around them. Yes, they'll get a few kickings as they learn and grow together. But done the right way, he could build a solid England team for future years.

He just seems to have only one idea, that is to put up a good enough show at Euro 2016 to hang on to his job.

England managers have focused on the players from the "big" clubs for years. Capello in particular.

Lingard has been OK for United. Not worthy of a call up.

True but least players in the past generally had lots of game experience, had won things and played many C.L games. Players such as Brown at United for instance was never a great player but at least had played a lot of games at a decent level.

The selection of Lingard on the other hand is baffling. He's played about 10 minutes of football!

Woys plot is basically do a bunch of Crap that makes no sense and then end it with "and it was all a dream".

Essentially we're being managed by JJ Abrams.

  13. I think Roy takes the view that most educated pundits take, that the likes of Leicester, West Ham, and Palace - whilst they may be doing fantastically well so far - are not going to stay the distance.

... so your latest philososphical masterpiece is that Woy should only pick his England squads on where he feels their respective clubs will ultimately finish the season <laugh>...

... makes you wonder why we need Woy at all then? ... surely squads should just be picked for each game by the 'super computer's' latest prediction of finishing position?

    Nice one Einstein.

I suspect most of those same 'educated pundits' also think that Spuds will ultimately finish outside the Champion's League spots, will get dumped out of the Europa League by a liitle known European club such as Young Rugmunchers Of Zurich (or something similar) and will be out before the quarter final stage of the FA cup too <laugh> ... at least they'll get something right then ...

Your apparent familiarity with Young Rugmunchers is somewhat disturbing!...

  16. Blimey! I've touched a nerve, there, all right, Fossil!

    Don't shoot the messenger, mate!

Trust me, I'd love nothing more than for the likes of Leicester and West Ham to upset the odds and spoil the "top 6" party, but it's not likely to happen. Sure, nothing is impossible - which is why I stop short of saying that it will "never" happen - but, please, let's all be grown up about this.

As for Spurs, Roy clearly sees that we are in the ascendency. Perhaps he senses that there is some kind of shift on the cards, not just in North London, but in terms of the "top 4" party. No one can really blame him for relying on the likes of Dier, Rose, Walker, Mason, Townsend, Alli, and Kane (the list is endless). I cannot help it if Spurs are, now, central to England's future glory, for the next decade, at least.

All I ask is that people don't wum me.

    Thanks.
