True, I never really simulate on FIFA as point is I like playing the games, but t is an option if you want a really basic management geme.

I do like how they have got FFP into fm as well and fines / deductions if don't meet the criteria.

@DirtyKlopp after seeing your post I played some Arena - I actually like league play, I just hope enough people play it to make the league system work. I found on the last Black Ops I would get into high leagues but still have to play noobs as there simply wasn't enough people involved.

I do like the fact you can keep/discard perks etc. The first thing I always try and remove is the UAV!!

Takes a little while to start the Arena, but at least people tend to take it seriously and not back out.

Yeah I like it, good shout as I hadn't played it before you mentioned it <ok>

I'm far too busy building my settlement on Fallout 4 though if I'm honest <laugh>

yeah that looks pretty awesome, am usually apathetic about games, but the fallout series has been one of the much better ones.

It's not that basic. It's more like the old versions of the game (2010ish I think). You still do pretty much everything you want but you can automate some things like training (if you want) and you get a little more help when it comes to transfer negotiations. I don't think any feature is removed but it's more streamlined.

Fallout 4 is awesome. It's strangely got very mixed reviews though but I've not enjoyed a game so much for years so no idea what they're whinging about. Fallout 2 has always been one of my favourite games of all time and I'd have plenty to complain about if they ruined the series in any way, but they haven't.

I love RPG I'm still playing Skyrim and currently going back through Mass Effect 2. What sort of map size is Fallout 4 compared to Skyrim?

It's hard to say. I read an article before Fallout's release that it's 3x larger than Skyrim's, but it certainly doesn't feel like it. In terms of distance I'd say there's not much difference, but it's far denser. You can't go 10 steps without stumbling upon a 'location' especially in the centre of the map where the city is/was. I'm about 30 hours in and I've only really covered the top 1/2 of the map, and found over 100 fast-travel locations already.

Fallout Map is 30 square miles, just over twice the size of Skyrim. <yikes>

A considerable amount of it is open water, though.

A lot of mountains and lakes in Skyrim that restrict movement, I imagine the water is there to make you travel around it just like the said mountains.

I don't fast travel when I play these game.

What's everyone's top all time games?

Old Games (obsolete now but best from their era)

    Master Of Orion 2.
    Master Of Magic.
Civilisation 3 (or 4 with all DLCs).
    X-com (original)
Jagged Alliance BIA (this is the bastard of the family that is much maligned by Jagged Alliance fans but I loved it).

    New(ish) games:
    XCOM: Enemy Within
    Expeditions: Conquistador
    Blackguards
Heroes Of Steel (actually a phone game but highly addictive)

I also like Football Manager (no specific version)... But that's more of a veg game in between new games.

I think most of the 'not so good' reviews were people that either hadn't played any Bathesda games before (therefore expected it to be 100% glitch free). Or people that didn't like the fact you're in the vault for about 5 minutes and are in a big battle within the first 20 mins..

The glitches have been non existent so far for me tbh. The only one that springs to mind was a subtitle that didn't go away during one conversation - no big deal.

I've played all the Fallout games and although I like having to build up before getting big weapons and armour, the fact Fallout 4 gives you a taster at the beginning isn't an issue imo.

The game is incredible, easily the best game I've played to date. By a long way to be honest.

I'm not very far into it, and I can tell I'll be lost for months, especially with DLC coming out. I love the total randomness of bits in the game and the dark humour. Settlement building is great fun too, I could go on and on.

Without question it'll win game of the year.

The reality is all credible game reviewers have given it near on top marks, even some of the strict critics have really given it credit.

I've noticed also that a fair amount of the 'not so good' reviews are from Witcher 3 fanboys - admittedly Witcher 3 is amazing, but not like Fallout 4 (I have both!).

@luvgonzo you're seriously missing out mate. If you're a Fallout fan then this is the absolute bollocks. Time to go next gen mate, pick up an xbox one for £200 nowadays <ok>

I haven't played Fallout 4 but I agree with some of the criticism I've seen about the forced storyline; I don't want to be a mother/father with a freakish little baby who then spends the game whining about their family. That's not roleplaying my own character. Just copy the start to Fallout 3 where I live my own life.

The possibilities in Fallout 4 are massive though. You can wonder the wasteland doing as you please, so the story about the family is only a fraction of what's going on.

The way you can build and craft etc. along with the rank/perk system means you can basically be who you want and act how you want.

The main storyline to me is just the bit on the side... in the sense that I treat the side quests and the roaming and building as the main part of the game (if that makes sense!!) <ok>

But I see what you mean, and have noticed that a fair amount of reviews mention that they would rather build up from nothing, rather than being a ready made father/mother chucked into a world of nuclear waste...

Ok, Starwars Battlefront ordered but only because I love Starwars. After playing the beta I think it will be short term fun....
