I have always been keen to point out my belief that Ray Wilkins colluded with the asset strippers that were on the QPR board in the early 1990's. But while his hands were clearly tied at many levels at least he was able to spend some money on transfers (even though he completely wasted the cash of course). Warnock is in an even worse situation where he cannot spend even part of the income the club will get from selling their best asset. And yet other than a few back-handed remarks he is publically very supportive of the board and seemingly complacent about the situation. I start to wonder if he is being paid off for his silence. He is, after all, at the end of his career and a few extra million to set up down in Cornwall would do very nicely thank you. If the situation remains unchanged prior to the start of the season I fully expect NW to resign as his task will be plainly impossible. If he does not then my suspicions will grow that he is in this together with our corrupt owners. Let the brick bats commence - I know Warnock is a God to many but I don't care: something is seriously wrong here.
Don't subscribe to this conspiracy theory - NW won't resign because he won't get a severance payment if he does, and there always a chance that the Mittals will come in over the season NW has to tread a fine line between telling the world what's going on, and not giving the Goons reason to sack him (with no compensation if he's the wrongdoer). Princess Diana had a similar sort of problem and had third parties tell her story through Andrew Morton...now there's a thought, Neil
QPAAAAAGH.................That is the biggest load of HORSE SH1T i have ever heard. FFS dry your eyes, quit pissin your panties and enjoy the fact that we're not playing doncaster away on the 2nd week of august.
Neil just wants a fair crack at it and isn't colluding in anything... To suggest otherwise is tosh and piffle IMO!
Why would NW speak publicly about whats going on behind the scene's only to get sacked for breach of contract ala Sousa?? NW is rolling with the punches and trying to do his best with what he has for one last crack at the Prem.QPAAAAAGH your talking utter ****!!
I'd leave it. It's another point of view. Someone will agree with it. Where's our devil's advocate when we need him? Eamon?
I would let it run for a while. Opinions are like arseholes we all have one yet some stink more than others!!
Lots of vitriol here but not any facts predictably. Sousa got sacked for disclosing confidential information but everything we are discussing here has already been publically stated. A contract that prevented Warock from expressing a fact based opinion would be invalid in law so its his choice to stay stum on these matters. He has said on many occasions that he felt he did not get a fair crack of the whip during his previous season in the Prem and that he relished another go with some reasonable resource behind him. Only an idiot would claim he is being given reasonable resources and he is certainly not going to get the 'fair crack' you all mention and yet there there is no problem according to NW's public utterances. It could be he is on the brink of resigning and I am just too soon with these remarks. If so, I apologize in advance. If not, Ray Wilkins is beginning to look like a hero again comparitively.
Wrong, wrong, wrong! A grafter who wants to manage in the Prem and even goes out of his way for old teams eg Plymouth? I still have a bit of faith left in him and humanity.
Lots of vitriol here but not any facts predictably. And your facts are............just your opinion!!
No, fair enough question. I would add does Warnock know something that we don't know (promised Mittal takeover), is he a man of principle, is it about the money or is about having another crack at the Premiership (even if that is being seriously compromised and could turn out to be a humiliation).
I believe I saw a strong hint some weeks ago that NW and Briatore had fallen out. Paladini and Ecclestone presumably stand between them and say, Neil, you get on with matters on the pitch, Flavio deals with sales of players. NW has to be careful - if he bad mouths the owners with his opinions, he could get sacked for bringing the club into disrepute, not acting in the best interest of the club etc The Goons have apparently appointed an agent to find a buyer for the club - the Mittals are still interested, and don't tell me NW isn't in constant communication with Bhatia with whom he had a good relationship. NW would be mad to jeopardise his position
I am sure that I had read somewhere that NW had sought advice from the Football Managers Association in relation to things that were going on. Maybe selling Taarabt is out of NW's control and he might try to get "constructive dismissal" IF he decides to leave. At the pit of my stomach, I just feel NW is too bloody minded to give into non football people - but that's my opinion
QPAAAAAGH: You usually write sense, albeit with an edge to it (which I tend to enjoy). However, on this one I think your frustrations are getting to you and you're allowing yourself to get dragged into unlikely conspiracy territory... You are not alone, believe me. With the summer we're having (and I'm not talking about the weather although the climate itself could be a QPR fan atm!), I think we're all teetering on the brink in way or another... However, your way of judging Neil Warnock here seems akin to the way we used to decide who was a witch and who wasn't. For the benefit of those not au fait with English medieval history, they'd dip the accused under water for a bit... if she survived she was a witch (and got torched for her troubles) and if she drowned she was found not guilty!
I think the goons would like NW walk so they can get there own man.in so he cannot comment on what he knows.
