Curry is my favourite food. Particularly like a coconut sauce - have tried the 'Spice Tailor' Keralan coconut one. Very nice, but a little mild for my taste. This (also available at Tesco) is also lovely and has a little more heat: please log in to view this image I also made a 'shepherds pie' last night, but with quorn mince - equally lovely!
I don't think I've ever tried to cook a Goan anything. I like to try all kinds of foods, all kinds of cuisine. Love to try new and exciting things. Don't think I have tried anything Goan yet. Unless I cooked a type of curry, that they didn't title Goan.
'Quorn' .................... sorry Gandy but that's Why do veggies seem to want to eat stuff that supposedly tastes like meat anyway ? Never have understood that, if you want to taste meat, eat meat simples.
Don't think I've heard of that. I will look up a traditional Goan dish and try to cook it soon. I love finding foods, Combinations of flavours, cuisines etc that I haven't cooked with or cooked. Gives me new, fresh inspiration.
Cooked a Spice Tailor Goan curry with lamb Saturday night with basmati rice, onion bajis, lamb samosas and popadums
I know mate but like I said previously, putting half a day aside to cook an authentic curry isn't easy
Was only joshing mate I agree. Just measuring out the 48 spices and herbs and cutting up the 18 chilies takes forever.
For me, it's the ability to cook 'traditional' dishes without the need to use meat, which I'm happier about.
I'll have to give those a go, I too have done the curry from scratch bit, a punjabi vindaloo. It was awesome but like any goodun it took 2hrs to cook the thing and about 400 ingredients. Bah!
Just taken my cake out of the oven, Sweet short pastry case lined with sliced apple and covered with my own cake mix. About to eat it warm with Lidl's Turkish yoghurt.
Placed an order for Punjabi tomato kit. Something to look forward to over the weekend. Maybe you should apply for a finders fee KIO
