The knifes are out , Ash with his view on the importance of friendly matches and now Siggy ,there has to be some large breakdown between all concerned for a comment to be said and allowed to be printed knowing the current situation knowing full well the implications of those comments .

If we are all honest it doesn't look like the players are doing it for the manager as wrong as that maybe, it happens. If he has lost the changing room it definitely is time to go.

(if that is the case )Player power is the most negative reaction there can be concerning a Club , it devalues everything , the commitment ,the supporters trust , the financial implications , someones livelihood , the player moves on with a big fat pay check to play else where , the manager may never get another job If this is the case and Monk does get the push will we ever know if he had has the ability to turn it around ?, sad if true

Mate I agree but what we don't see is the way the manager treats the players behind the scene, whilst they are highly paid and most would always find a club, without the manager having the dressing room then any club is in the ****. I hope it is nothing more than a little paper talk, but there may be something in it.

That's true and if this a case of a players revolt then GM should think back to when he did exactly the same thing.

Furious Swansea City consult legal team after reports Gylfi Sigurdsson criticised Garry Monk 'taken out of context'

Gylfi Sigurdsson is the subject of reports he criticised Garry Monk's communication skills
Swansea City have launched a staunch defence of Garry Monk after comments attributed to midfield kingpin Gylfi Sigurdsson appeared to criticise the under-fire manager.

The Swans say they have spoken to Sigurdsson about an interview he gave whilst on international duty with Iceland, who play a Euro 2016 warm-up friendly in Slovakia this evening.

Sigurdsson was quoted in other media outlets as saying Monk didn’t ‘communicate much’ with the Swans players and hadn’t congratulated him on reaching next summer’s Euro finals in France with Iceland.

But Swansea say they have instructed their legal department to look into the way in which Sigurdsson’s comments were portrayed.

Once the Sigurdsson interview appeared on foreign websites, it was picked up by the mainstream British media.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been out of form for the Swans

A Swans official confirmed Sigurdsson had already been spoken to about the situation and they were comfortable with his explanation.

Sigurdsson told them the interview was about whether Monk had put pressure on Iceland to not play him for too much of the game against Slovakia.

Monk had previously said he hoped ‘common sense’ would be shown when it came how to his players were to be used in international friendlies during the current window, comments which had angered Wales boss Chris Coleman.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk is under huge pressure

The Swansea spokesman told WalesOnline: “We are aware of the comments attributed to Gylfi Sigurdsson and the matter has been passed onto our legal department.

“We have spoken to Gylfi and he is adamant the comments have been taken out of context. He was only stressing that whilst away on international duty he comes under the control of the national association and the national boss who, of course, has the final say on how much a player plays for his country during an international break.

“Gylfi is quite clear that he meant his communication with his club manager is at a minimum when he is away on international duty and only that.

“And we would like to make it quite clear that Garry Monk congratulates every international player who qualifies for a tournament, no matter what tournament that might be or what nation they play for. To suggest otherwise is incorrect.”

Monk knows Swansea must beat Bournemouth

The rumpus comes at a bad time for 36-year-old Monk, who is seeing his job at the club come under scrutiny following a poor run of form that has seen the Swans take just five points from the last 24 on offer in the Premier League.

Monk’s men are five points above the drop zone and entertain Bournemouth on Saturday for a clash some are saying could prove make or break for the Swans’ boss.

    The timing coincidental ?

Jazz Richards pleased with Fulham move © Getty Images 2 7 4 13 By Tom Nightingale, Reporter Filed: Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 20:58 UK Last Updated: Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 21:07 UK Former Swansea City defender Jazz Richards has admitted that he is pleased with how his summer move to Championship side Fulham has turned out. The Welsh international left the Swans after nine years at the Liberty Stadium in search of regular game time after failing to hold down a first-team spot at his hometown club. The drop down a division has reaped rewards for the 24-year-old as he has been able to finally secure regular playing time, as well as forcing his way back into the Wales national side, and he has revealed his delight at playing first-team football. "I am playing games now, I am playing week in, week out," he told the South Wales Evening Post. "It is a different philosophy so I have had to change my style of play, but getting experience is going to help anyone. "Things can change, but I think that I have come in and done a job [for Wales]. I think that is what the gaffer has been looking for and he has kept me in the team. Hopefully that can continue." Richards has made 14 appearances for Fulham so far this season and also featured for Chris Coleman's national side in the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Cyprus, Israel, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Swansea City assistant Pep Clotet 'edging closer to Brentford switch' © Getty Images 1 0 7 8 By Daniel Lewis, Football League Correspondent Filed: Thursday, November 26, 2015 at 11:19 UK Last Updated: Thursday, November 26, 2015 at 11:19 UK Brentford are reportedly hopeful of announcing the appointment of Pep Clotet as their new manager prior to the weekend. The Swansea City assistant was quickly earmarked as the favourite to take over at Griffin Park following his impressive work in South Wales. A proposed move to lure the Spaniard to Brentford was thought to be in doubt, however, after Swans boss Garry Monk claimed earlier this week that his right-hand man was 'going nowhere'. Despite Monk's best efforts, the South Wales Evening Post suggests that an official announcement is less than 48 hours away from being made. Lee Carsley has been tasked with steadying the ship at Brentford since the departure of Marinus Dijkhuizen, a task he has achieved in some style by guiding the Bees back into playoff contention. The 41-year-old, voted the Championship's Manager of the Month for October, admitted after the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest last Saturday that he expected the match to be his last in charge. I see Monk has learned from the Master: "He's going nowhere" is usually followed by an exit. Do they think we're stupid or what?

Monk is not the easiest to get on with, I remember when he first came to Swansea he was staying at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, and none of the staff liked him, he caused no end of agro, but that was a long time ago, I thought he had been reformed by us Welsh by now, but maybe not!...............<laugh>
