I actually think the last year of contract with someone like Mane doesn't make much difference. He's quality and only 23. He's going to get better and better and better. His value is going to go up and up and up. He starts next season and has another good season then there will be a stampede to sign him. I'd be impressed of he signs a new deal and still only stays one more season after this.

If Mane waited until the summer of 2017 I reckon he would have Europe's elite after him. He could do so much better than Man United. He is such a fantastic player already. Whatever we get or wherever he goes I'm going to be gutted when he leaves. He just keeps getting you out of your seat.

P.S I hope he gets the African Player of the Year award.

For all the twaddle rumours going out here's one for coming in.

I read that Ibrahimovic is considering coming to Southampton to join up with the Koemans, and have at least a season of two in the PL to finish off his career.

I'd love it. Sometimes it's a shame these rumours are such rubbish. :)

Wouldn't surprise me if someone has written an article off the back of seeing this http://talksport.com/football/ibrah...ry-moor-green-your-best-ever-football-manager

About best signings people have made for their team on Football Manager.

Ok, just the Mirror, but Chelsea said to be considering selling Costa, in January.
    Could we afford him?
    Would we want Mr Nasty?
No denying he's a good player, but would he get the same level of tolerance, from refs, if he played for a "lesser" team?

No, no, a thousand times no! I've no idea what's gone wrong with him this season but he was rubbish against Southampton and rubbish for Spain the other night. He just goes looking for a fight rather than playing football. Maybe it's the influence of his club manager!

I would take him as he fights to win, rather have a player like him to a player that doesn't stand up to the cause.

He may need to curb his aggression a tad though.

Italian side Juventus are considering moves for Southampton striker Graziano Pelle, 30, and Chelsea midfielder Oscar, 24, but will struggle to meet the financial demands for both deals.(Daily Mail)

Apparently, in one article, Southampton were rocked by the news. More like yawned. :)

One article referred to Juventus going for a Man United striker target.....so Southampton even get cut out of their made up rumour. Made it sound like we were not the possible losers, rather it was United. (And I don't believe United want Pelle anyway).

Found another in the Express: United are stunned by Pelle's comments.<doh>

    http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ited-Graziano-Pelle-Liverpool-Arsenal-Chelsea

Now the Echo's interpretation. From the same interview, they suggest that Pelle has allayed our fears. Just shows you can read what you like in something.

My interpretation (obviously the only one that really counts :)): Pelle loves his country, wants to live there and is saying nice things to the Italian media. He has a contract here until 2017, so cannot say what will happen after that, but he wouldn't exactly be insulted by returning to Italy. He has kept all the doors open.

I do find it funny and agitating at the same time how different media outlets can twist the same quotes to mean vastly different thinks to meet their agenda. Saw another article that had him ready to go back to Italy in January, they only quoted three sentences that backed that up (basically saying nice things about Italy). It's ridiculous they can get away with it.

Indeed. He's being diplomatic. He probably had the Italian media predominantly in front of him and answered the questions politely. I've no doubt all he said was true, though there was nothing that was laying down a commitment. He's almost certainly mindful of the fact that it's better for his career if he sticks to Koeman like glue. Where Koeman goes, he goes and that might be nowhere. Mind you, much as I like Graziano, by 2017 he's going to be getting on a bit for a player who does what he does. Perhaps a year's extension.?
