Living over three hours drive from Paris I didn't think that I would notice anything locally after the state of emergency was declared. This morning while in the garage the police arrived with a list of cars that they wished to know about if they should turn up. Very much a long shot I thought, but at least it shows that something was happening. Our local police station is due to close next Spring, but now that 5,000 extra police are to be employed I wonder if it will remain?
Absolutely hammering it down here...the lane is hosting a fast-running stream. Will not be venturing outside for a while!
Grey, windy and the occasional shower here today. The far north has an orange alert in place due to high winds that seem to be the tail of the gales crossing the south of England. Rather glad that at present I do not have any plans to catch a ferry across the Channel.
Good morning. Frenchie basically gave last night's weather for here. It is still windy but has calmed down considerably. Just to let you know that with the exception of the predictions thread, I won't be posting on here for a while. This has NOTHING to do with the politics thread, just that there are some things I need to - nothing serious, but they still need to be done. I will read posts when I'm in to predict, so I'm up to speed when I do return.

Three defeats in a row is not good.
Morning all, bright and sunny here, rather different to yesterday. More bad news from Paris this morning. My granddaughters have had all school trips cancelled, a result of the state of emergency. There is a lot of concern that the unrest will stop the tourists who come to the capital. The Tour de Eiffel alone has between 15,000 and 20,000 visitors every day.
Poor France all that bad news then England beat them, a grain of salt into the big wound. Big game Sat, bring it on! Too early here mind, 6:45 on a Sat hmmmmmmm, might make the second 1/2.
