Let me clarify, the religious creationists, there are people who believe intelligent design, and there is a a good argument, but over time I've looked into much of the argument and evolution can explain it.

religious creationism was certainly killed by Darwin, the earth is over 6000 years old after all<laugh>

Let me rephrase that, Darwin dealt a death blow to the religious creationist "science".

Yes there are many people who think the world is 6000 years old.

I already explained to you that when 4 people troll you, spending hours replying to four people making ludicrous arguments and pointless jokes and all liking each other's posts, is not something I am interested in.

After all this time you still have not even bothered to reserach any subject you decided you wanted to get into. You read first then talk about it, not the other way around, FYI TOBES ASTRO..

Good to not slate the other person when making a scientific post like.. kind of a debate killer, which is what this is all really about with you guys, though I appreciate your pretence at being interested in the subject, you are only her because PJ tagged you <laugh>

Ye have a little girly group going, ignorance tends to clot like blood

@PJS - BACK AND BOSSING IT
This is a reconstruction lad not anything to do with cycles. If you read the posts, which you didn't, I never said it explained cycles.

    More sheer ignorance on display

So yet more lies about me, I have only ever claimed my ignorance on the subject. Nice.

PS wasnt lying on that list of defensive behaviour I posted when talking about condescending attitudes?

Lies, who tagged you? Your girlfriend.

On this subject maybe, but you have repeatedly called me this or that on other subjects, you left that bit out :D

Don't like what you read? dont read it? or go read and come back with an argument. If you want to learn about this subject there is endless stuff on line. You will quickly learn there is no consensus.

He did that to keep the clerics happy. He was a religious man, but one of the reasons he stalled publication for so long is that he knew what it ultimately meant to religion.

Ventur capital is tiny in comparison and recently I read a very good article calling for more venture capital in science because the multinational and government funding is corrupting science and has damaged science's reputation.

I agree, but at present, it is not even removely where it needs to be to the point of being ineffective at present.

Totally agree though that this is the way to go, science needs to be separate from power structures would you agree?

Think of the word 'evolution' for a minute.

Where did the something that was evolving come from? As for the 6,000 years argument, there are those who believe that theory and there are also some who believe we got here from outer space! No where in the Bible does it tell us how old the earth is and as I see it there is nothing in science that contradicts divine creation.

Many years ago I read a short story by Brian Aldiss about the creation . My memory of the details is vague, but in it the world was created in the 19th century by Queen Victoria- who is a giant, God-like creature finally discovered by the story's protagonist. All the clues we have to the age of the world were put there deliberately to make us think it's old, in the way we might try to make the enclosures of captive animals as realistic as possible.
Like in most of Aldiss' stories, his tongue was firmly in his cheek - funny, but thought provoking.

Venture capital is critically important to many of the companies I deal with in the biotech and diagnostics fields. Government grants play a very small part.

True nothing disproves divine creation. And if that was the chemical inustry, where not being able to proves something harmful means it is OK, then not being able to disprove divine creation makes it ok if we use the same measure :D

Yes those explain a lot, ye start insulting because you disagree, and when I respond, it's all me, typical media style amnesia. Funny but out of touch with reality.

You've been obsessed with me ever since I proved you were talking **** about Obama, and when i provided the proof you asked for, you said something about my posts being "hurtful" or some **** <laugh>

I have some family members who are Jehovah's Witnesses. According to them, the 6000 year date is calculated by going back through the generations of people named in the bible until you come to the Creation. Obviously it's a rough figure, but it's not just plucked out of the air.

Yes but compared to government funding and multinational funding, it pales in comparison. hence the calls from scientists for MUCH more
