Basically..... one or more tory voting people are using this thread currently to condemn all Muslims for what has happened over the w/e..... one of them does not respond to any attempt at dialogue but will start to make abusive comments when people try and put another arguments.... and has been on any discussion for weeks

It is impossible seemingly to have a grown up discussion without said parties resorting to political stereotypes...

At least two posters who were here for years have left these boards as a result recently.

    Good luck!

or to put it another way we have a troll on board..... sad but true:

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1]extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into anemotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion,[3] often for their own amusement.

Have you looked at a political map, England is overwhelmingly Tory, 41% of the vote. 319 seats to Labour's 206. Maybe not surprising that many Watford supporters are Tories. If you think about it Watford FC is like the Tory mantra, watching hard working young men become multi millions through their playing skill and entrepreneurial owners ultimately making tens of millions through endeavour and financial awareness.

    Who needs a flat cap?

I understand , thanks for the clarification .
This situation re the terrorists is complex and potentially very dangerous to all of us . If what has been fed to us about ISIS is true , then the western world has a real problem , hey are not likely to negotiate with anyone . So glad I'm a gardener and not one of the decision makers .
This morning on thought for the day , the speaker said there are just 2 emotions ( very debatable ) ...Love and fear .... ISIS are seemingly masters at spreading fear .

Right, first off an apology to hf1963 as my response was a little intemperate - I am getting increasingly frustrated by this thread but it is no excuse. I just do not recognise this idea of close knit Muslim community where I live - it tends to be much more on national lines e.g Pakistani, Somali, Turkish etc.
I agree with your main point of course yorkie and like I say was a tad too vehement in challenging.
I am out of this thread though as it's way too toxic and I don't trust myself!

Just a few small corrections. Not condemning all moslems for the weekends atrocity but condemning the underlying religion or corruption thereof. I would actually take it further back and condemn the western governments propping up the Saudi state which has created a precedent of reward for a corruption of Islam which unfortunately Daesh are following very closely. There really is very little difference between Daesh and the Saudis. The unfortunate fact is that the majority following whatever faith by default are victims of the priests, mullahs rabiis or whatever who use religion for their own selfish needs.
Grown up conversation Yorkie? What are you trying to say? Just because people disagree doesn't make it juvenile. We all have our very validd opinions whatever side of the political divide we are from and in most cases these are based upon the evolution of experience as you go through life and education in formative years. My perspective will be different from yours but makes neither view less valid. Who's left recently?

41 % of the electorate did not vote for the Conservative party .
To be honest , if I could wave a magic wand I would much rather football went back to as it was in years past . Of course I love Watford's current success , it is exciting , I love the improved atmosphere at the Vic ..the Pozzo's are excellent owner's . etc etc etc ..
However , look and think a little and you will see all is not so rosy with football today .

..re your comment's ..not all player's work especially hard ...and footballers wages are somewhat obscene. Many clubs are on the edge of bankruptcy , especially in the championship .
Footballer's agents are a pain in the neck .
Many grounds throughout the country have huge numbers of empty seats because ordinary / traditional supporters can no longer afford tickets ....this pricing out of ordinary supporters has also lead to lousy atmospheres within grounds .
My girlfriend's 18 year old lad has just started an electrical apprenticeship ...he is being picked up at 5.30 am to travel into London from Northampton ..gets back at 8pm ...he is on extremely low money and certainly could not afford to attend a league game on his earnings .
Ok , you are probably a wind up merchant whose comments are not to be taken seriously . Enjoy you comfortable circumstances ....there are plenty of extremely hard working members of our society who do not share your abundance of riches .

41% of the electorate DID vote Conservative in England, check your facts.
My comments were solely about WFC not football in general.

I did a 6 year apprenticeship on lousy money, been there, done it.

Don't worry Dan ..Surely a politics thread should be a little edgy . We are just a bunch of ol'farts with nowt better to do .
We could all do without the international footy breaks . On Saturday I'm right down the front and at the end of the LGT stand for the Man U game ..right in front of the hopefully extremely noisy and happy rookery singing section . If anyone is seated in that area of the ground it would be nice to say hello ...that includes you 'orrible tory boys .

I believe the Tories got to power with something like only 24% of the total number of voters entitled to vote ....hardly a landslide . It is nonsense to suggest England is an overwhelming Conservative nation .

The Tories had 41% of the votes in England. Fact

    319 seats to Labour's 206 Fact

Apart from a few cities the electoral map is overwhelmingly blue, it will be more blue when the boundaries change.

The poor choice of Corbyn will keep England Tory for a long time to come.

If it makes you feel happy , I will let you believe you have won the argument .
To be honest I don't really give a tinkers ...we will all be pushing up daisies soon enough .
Back to more pressing matters ...time to settle down in front of my log fire .. Rice pudding or custard & bananas to be consumed while watching Bargain hunt or Gogglebox on catch up TV ...Just remembered ..Hunting Hitler is on the History channel ...did he die in the bunker in Berlin ? or did he really escape the Argentina ?

It is not a matter of winning just trying to explain why there are many folk that vote Tory and support WFC and why it should not be usual to have a few on Tories on this forum.

I feel unable to continue to engage with one member on this thread...... not you BTW I respect you have views that are widely different to mine... but we seem to be able to have a half-sensible dialogue.

At least two members have left as a direct result of this thread. One other no longer contributes... .sadly as we had good dialogues etc. I will not name them in case they choose to return.. I very much hope they do. I also seem to have fallen out with one valued and long term friend on this message board as a result of the dialogues on this thread

On this basis i am no longer going to engage with someone who abuses me or my own views or minority groups for their own pleasure. To do so when 129 people have been killed in Paris and scores in Lebanon plus holidaymakers on a plane from Egypt in the last couple of weeks is no longer tenable for me.

My choice therefore is to press the IGNORE button on such a person and have no further dialogue with them.

The behaviours totally are those of a troll, veiled in seemingly sensible views with barbed comments seemingly wishing to inflame. Classic behaviour.

    all best <ok>

Cheer up yorkie ...the world would be a lesser place if we all always agreed with one another .
Online / virtual communication comes with many difficulties and pitfuls ...have you ever tried online dating ? ...now that's a real emotional minefield .
men in particular seem to enjoy their "banter" .
    All the best .

I'm not sure who you are referring to but there has been a left wing bias, a bit like the BBC, on this political thread which has encouraged slagging off Tories, the USA, the UK, and general capitalism etc. It is not debate you are looking for but a forum for like minded desperate lefties, a bit like a union meeting in the 70's.
