He could well be back in January(on loan) with a view to buy back (less wear & tear of course) in the summer.
Buying Evans after Chester makes me think Pulis knew Chester wasn't going to fit in. Do West Brom still have a transfer committee or was it abolished as one of Pulis's contract conditions ?
Why do you take it I agree with that poster? I didnt comment on that post. I commented on your post. Your "suggestion" was he was better than the other poster said because Belgium didnt score against Wales whilst he was playing. Which is ridiculous.
your conclusion is ridiculous. you are interpreting my post in your own ridiculous but wrong way and claiming that my post was ridiculous when the fact is that your misinterpretation of it is what is ridiculous. i wrote that i took it that you agreed with him because you disagreed with me. in fact, i don't believe that to be the case but seeing as you were writing nonsense i thought i'd write some. my "suggestion" was an "example".
I haven't missed Chester since he left. Davies and Dawson were as tight as a duck's arse, Dawson and Bruce were as tight as a gnat's chuff and Dawson and Maguire are as tight as a Jock's sporran.
Please accept my profound apologies. I was not aware that I could only respond to posts that were directed at myself. As you have now responded to me personally I will now repeat what I said. “Give it a ****ing rest you know nowt dopey ****.” By the way, I have corrected my typo, so that you don't have another excuse to complain.
Bummers was absolutely right to point out the huge flaw in this point. I have no idea why you've taken such offence at having it pointed out. Paul Lawrie, Ben Curtis and Told Hamilton all won the Open within a few years of each other. Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson. Japan beat South Africa in the RWC. The Jak kept a clean sheet against Liverpool. Happy got laid. One-off events prove nothing. You can't possibly make assessments of someone based on such a limited sample. Also, pointing out the flaw in your reasoning doesn't mean a person necessarily disagrees with your view. You really need to take that on board, rather than ramping up the defensiveness and squabbling.
the word he used was "ridiculous". it wasn't ridiculous. i didn't have the time or the inclination to list all the games in which chester has done well. the two "one-off" events were examples, not cited as some kind of proof. would you like more examples? there are more examples. i've since mentioned chester's part in helping wales to qualify for the first time in decades and helping them to their highest fifa rankings. i see you didn't compain about arseface's wild extrapolations of what i wrote.
Buster Douglas beating Mike Tyson did prove something. It proved that the strategy (which existed before douglas won but had not been executed correctly) to beat Tyson was to use your reach and height advantage by using the jab to keep him at a distance coupled with tying him up as often as possible to slow the fight down. Tyson was never the type of fighter who could go long into fights, he was short (only 5 ft 10), with a short reach but fought like a freight train. All you had to do was slow it down and keep him off you and you had a real chance at winning. The fact that someone such as Douglas actually won just proved the giant hole in Tysons boxing game.
my lad works in lounge southella near where chester had a house he went in there every now and then from what ive heard chester was gutted to leave !
Some very silly comments on this thread. Chezza cost us next to **** all. He was the ultimate professional. He was outstanding for the vast majority of games he played for us. He loved living in the area and never had a bad word to say about Hull. His family and girlfriend loved the area and never had a bad word to say about Hull. He never asked for a transfer and could have got a higher wage at Leicester but had agreed a deal with WBA as he thought going to Leicester might piss City fans off. In short he had integrity. He was one of the best centre halves to play for this club in my lifetime. We couldn't even be arsed to sing his name. Shame on me and shame on you. Our club made over £7 million on his transfer. Most of all shame on the deluded ****s who feel the need to disrespect a true gent, a great player and a loyal servant to our club. ****ing idiots.
The Wales point was weak because Chester was a part of a team, not the team: but I think the defence of Chester was a reasonable thing to do and, to be fair, they didn't score. These comparisons are weak as they all did what they had to do as a team or as an individual sportsman (see Ellewoods Tyson analysis) without team mates. In the case of the golf, only the weather varied, they all played the same course. Japan has to start somewhere and they did, with good rugby. Jak is unfairly ridiculed. Happy is happy.
I nearly made the additional point myself about the fact that a team does something proves nothing about an individual's quality, but frankly my post was too long already. (It frequently grinds my gears that players in team sports are judged on how many trophies their team won, as if that somehow means John O'Shea was a better player than Matt LeTissier.)
