We don't need him, but damn I would have him back.

Only problem being that if he did come back, that would mean either abandoning the current formations or dropping either Dawson or Davies, both of whom have been superb.

If he came back in the summer it may be the time that Davies goes.

It's strange how things turn out. Chezzy was once our best ball playing centre half, yet if he was here now I'm not certain that he'd get a regular game, especially in a 442 formation. Who would select him over Odobajo?

I'd welcome him back with open arms but I'm not sure that he'd be in any better a position than he is currently at the Baggies.

I don't believe he just plucked Chester's name out of a hat when he was looking for another defender, he knew what he was getting when he bought him - I do agree though that Chester goes against the usual ''giant meathead'' template that Pulis usually uses. Chester was sold to help balance the books, £8mill was too good to turn down.

Seemed an odd Pulis buy and more so when he went for Evans afterwards.

    I love Chester.

Even more from reading that he wanted to stay. It's kind of a shame if he turned down a better offer from Leicester because he thought it'd annoy us. I don't think people really would have been bothered would they?

Andy bollock brain would've, let's not forget that he thought Chezzy wasn't good enough for Leicester.

There would have been hissy fits a plenty on here if he'd gone to Leicester

he's a good player. he was our best player last year and the year before. i don't "idolise" him. he's part of the first welsh team in my lifetime to qualify for the finals of a tournament. i'm not convinced he was set on leaving. several players were given no choice but for some reason some have decided that chester wouldn't play in the championship and slagged him off on that basis.

there's a major difference - Chester is a good player, Premier League standard - wanted by other Premier League sides and because of his ability ended up staying in the Premier League - on the other hand Junior isn't Premier League standard and no-one else wants him or has ever considered playing him in the Premier League except his dad

you said my post was ridiculous. it contained only facts. you drew your own warped conclusions. i replied with justifications for my opinion. i did add counterpoints for what others had posted.

You suggested in your post that Chester must be brilliant because Belgium didn't score against Wales when he was playing. That is ridiculous.

    FACT.

I did not question Chester's ability in any way, shape or form.

Just about spot on. ^^^^^^ this.

    However,

It was a bad move for James Chester to go to Wba. I sad so at the time and get no satisfaction at seeing a good quality talent wasted by Pulis. Wba are still well in a relegation dog fight and Chester IMO is better off on the bench and away from the battle. Hull City at least got well paid for the lad.

i didn't use the word brilliant. FACT.

this is the text of the post i replied to:

"The Chester fanboys on here are completely delusional, he was turgid for large parts of last season.

What makes him think he should just waltz into a solid Premier League side?

If he was good enough he'd be playing but all he's done is show himself up in the few appearances he's made so far, carrying on his form from last season infact."

i take it that you agree with that poster.

chester wasn't "turgid" and the worst part of the season defensively was the early part after chester's opening day red card until bruce realised that dawson and nose-out-of-joint davies were leaking like a sieve.

my "suggestion" was that chester is considerably better than that poster's absurd opinion.

Tony Pulis wont be happy with Chester and his comments I suspect ?

Hardly. Coleman and Wales are not blessed with many quality CB. Chester and Williams are the best 2 by a mile at Coleman's disposal.
