The FIM Speedway Grand Prix Commission has confirmed Jaroslaw Hampel, Peter Kildemand, Andreas Jonsson and Antonio Lindback as the four permanent wild cards for the 2016 FIM Speedway Grand Prix series.
Two-time FIM Speedway World Championship runner-up Hampel’s title challenge was halted after three rounds this season when he suffered a broken leg in the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup in June. He will be determined to get back into the race for gold next season.
He was replaced in the series by first reserve Kildemand, who produced an heroic charge for the top-eight automatic qualification places, falling just three points short, despite racing three rounds less than Chris Holder in eighth.
Former world No.2 Jonsson ended his 2015 season with some strong SGP scoring, while Lindback has been rewarded for a strong domestic campaign, which saw him win his first Swedish Championship, reach the Swedish Elitserien play-off final with Indianerna and win the Polish First Division with Latvian team Daugavpils.
The quartet have been nominated to join the eight riders who finished in this season’s FIM Speedway World Championship top eight – Tai Woffinden, Greg Hancock, Nicki Pedersen, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Jason Doyle, Matej Zagar, Maciej Janowski and Holder.
The top three from the 2015 GP Challenge at Polish track Rybnik on September 5 – Bartosz Zmarzlik, Piotr Pawlicki and Chris Harris – complete the field.
Swedish racer Fredrik Lindgren, Danish starlet Michael Jepsen Jensen and Czech hotshot Vaclav Milik have also been named as substitute riders and will be drafted into SGP events should any of the 15 regular stars miss a round due to injury, illness or other reasons.
The riding numbers for the 2016 SGP series will be confirmed in due course.

BSI Speedway, an IMG company, has signed a three-year deal with BT Sport for exclusive live coverage of the FIM Speedway World Championships, presented by Monster Energy, in the UK and Ireland.
Under the terms of the deal, fans will be able to watch Britain’s current world champion, Tai Woffinden, defend his title on BT Sport from next season, with the channel broadcasting both the FIM Speedway Grand Prix and the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup through to 2018. Both live coverage and highlights will be produced by IMG.

Gutted that BT now have the TV rights to GP and the WTC Simon.....

The cheapest I can find it for so far, without their Broadband, which I don't want, is £20 a month which I am not prepared to pay, especially with Sky retaining the Elite and Premier League coverage. I don't watch much Premiership football so £240 just for the speedway isn't a price I want to willingly pay.

Yes I saw that as well - I have BT Broadband, but have not got BT Sport
I think they have Ashes 2016/17 cricket (in Australia) as well

I like Sky's lower league and Championship coverage and don't particularly want to lose that. Might have to bite the bullet I guess and pay for BT Sport although it's less than ideal and is just more money being spent on something I wont use, other than for speedway <wah>

I'm not into cricket either I'm afraid so wont watch that on any channel.
