Blimey, I've been offered staff concession prices for flights to Antigua (BA) with only taxes to pay and that's come to around £350.
I think it's him in general people object to and his one mate who I can't remember the name of, thought you would have better taste Sterling Archer!
Most of the people who get upset generally tell any non-City supporting fans to do one as soon as they appear. AKCJ, for the most part, isn't that bad. There are some of the Leicester lot that are a bit ****, however. His presence just doesn't bother me, I don't know why he gets on other people's nerves.
Just to clarify - my flight costs are zero but do not include taxes which (at current rates) are £396. As taxes are outside of the airline's control I would imagine that the actual cost to our travelling player (in the unlikely event that the fare wasn't covered by the local FA) would be rather more than £350.
Ah I'm with you. Yeah I'd be interested to know who stumps up for the costs, I always assumed the country's FA paid for it.
Well Antigua isn't exactly a footballing powerhouse and I don't know how they could afford to fly their overseas players over every time. Not to mention the rest of the squad during away games. Must be why most of their players are based on the islands.
The Antiguan FA has a bit of a reputation for dodgy finances even by FIFA standards - they were subject to an investigation last year after mortgaging their home ground for just over a million dollars,
Yikes. Incidentally, CJM came on in the 49th minute and got booked as his country lost 2-0 to Guatamala and got knocked out of the World Cup 2-1 on aggregate.
Ryan Mason has been drafted into the England squad following the withdrawal of Fabian Delph. A direct return flight to Antigua will cost about £650.
Surprised he's not turned up to derail this thread yet now he's got Sterling Hatchers blessings...Will watch England tomorrow because I want to see how the crowd shows solidarity with France not so much the football anymore which is a shame. Hope Smalling and Stones get a chance to play together v a decent team, France might be competitive because of the emotion attached to recent events too.
