I'm sure they won't tackle everyone but people who tend to go overboard using it in a derogatory term, Stereo, Dev, Rebel etc. They have vowed to tackle Internet bigots and have recently stated that hate filled sectarian comments could be punishable with up to 5 years in prison. It's not acceptable as McBride has quite rightly pointed out. The response, people speaking of how they will defy him and continue to use that language, then a barrage of insults directed at myself.
I'm all for choosing not to be offensive.....but to make it a crime.....its ****ing embarrassing See what happens when you vote SNP Laughing stock
I cannot believe a bigot like Pedro is still allowed to post. Mendes was proven beyond all doubt (except Prestonbear and I think Mr T) for his continuous ranting fault finding speaking ill of Neil Lennon on a regular basis several times a day almost every day. He is then allowed to come on here and tell celtic fans what they can and cannot do. Despite posting regularly on McBride's article Mendes does not see fit to ask Rangers fans to refrain from their evil sectarian singing/chanting that has caused UEFA after several warnings to finally fine the Rangers club for the last two games in Europe last season.
I expect that Pedro Mendes posts are currently under investigation. 5 years would be too long a sentence
You don't half talk some amount of ****e. Honestly. I use the word Hun to offend? In a derogatory way? Of course I do, because it annoys the **** out of you. I do not however use it in the sectarian way that some have suggested and even Paul McBride would have a hard time proving I did in a court of law. If I called you a "lowlife" that's derogatory, is it sectarian? Of course it is'nt. Is it against the law? Depends on the context, if I shouted at you in the street I could be lifted for Breach of the Peace, same as I would for using the word Hun in public. Now toddle off back to your own board and start cleaning that cesspit up Mary Whitehouse style before you have the brass neck to come over here and pontificate about offensive words and their meaning according to the dictionary of you.
He wouldn't even try. Like you said, as McBride also said, It is offensive..... no massive revelation there.
Unfortunately, this is the way the world is heading. To quote Russ "I use the word Hun to offend? In a derogatory way? Of course I do" Why is it that the Celtic family are too stupid to realise what you are sleepwalking into? Fenian has been banned because it is O'Fensive to Timothy. O'FENSIVE words and phrases will result in sanctions.
And yet another who wants to stick their gingers in their ears and shout "What about your fans!" I and many others realise Rangers have problem, we know what can and cannot be sung/said. Dunder heads still will and will no doubt end up in trouble, but a lot of the Celtic fans on here still see no problem in what they are saying. Despite McBride telling you it has to stop, there are still people here that will continue to spew their sectarian hatred and at the same time think they are doing nothing wrong. Then there are the ones that will continue to do so, knowing they are in the wrong but will argue blue in the face that they are right to do so.
What a ****ing comedian. Who says usage of the word Hun is evidence of "sectarian hatred" under Scots Law? Please show me any evidence you have
I think you fall into the 2nd category; Then there are the ones that will continue to do so, knowing they are in the wrong but will argue blue in the face that they are right to do so.
Medro I know Ulster Prods have this reputation for being terrible bores but there is no law saying you have to costantly live up to it.
