Thanks Sku, I'm well mate . Been reading the board but not having much to contribute for a while 'cos its all been said already.
Tragic news emerging from Paris once more, and again many innocent people the majority of which would have been youngsters enjoying a Friday night's entertainment have lost their lives. I read Beth's post with interest, and of course she is correct, tit for tat retaliation just serves to escalate the level of violence. The biggest problem here is that these are not reasonable rational people that you can sit down with and thrash out the issues and reach a sensible solution. As it stands these lunatics have the upper hand, Paris could just as easily have been London, Amsterdam of any other European city, these types of attack are virtually impossible to stop but we can't let these fanatics win.
Why don't the Muslim people demonstrate their hate for the extremists then? A few superficial official statements is not enough. Why aren't they informing authorities more of any suspicious behaviour? I'm afraid I believe more of them sympathise with extremists than we care to admit. Consider this. Let's assume that ISIS is on the verge of being able to impose Sharia law on London. Do you think the majority Muslim population will stand and fight or will they just roll over and run with it? If you think the former, I admire your optimism but I'll take the latter view every time. It is time for the UK to wake up and smell the unpleasant odour of the threat of Islam before it so too late. It may already be. I'm aware this view may put me at risk of a ban. First ever if it happens and a small price to pay in the name of democracy.
Is it possible to ban Islam ? Just wondering , when you think about it it's the only realistic way to protect ourselves , harsh on all the good Muslims out there but what is the alternative ? How can you definitavly protect yourself , take the risk out of your country, maybe then all the good Muslim people will become a bit more proactive in grassing the nutters up ....
I was pissed but stand by what I said. There is a bill going through the commons at the moment and the Liberal Looney's are more worried about the possibility of someone in MI5 finding what dodgy websites they've been looking at. They need to realise as has been pointed out without security there is no liberty. And it takes a bunch of innocent people getting murdered before they realise they shouldn't be limiting people trying to stop such murders. As for the BBC they are a champion of multi-culturalism and have demonised anyone who has pointed out that letting in foreigners of a different religion to establish their own ever growing ghetto's will gradually erode away society and rather than becoming part of society they will attack it and try to change it to their own backward stoneage views. This is happening in parts of France and it's happening in parts of England. Tower Hamlets being one such example. BBC need to stop framing the debate in purely short term economic factors and realise the damage being done to the nation with a society poisoned by isolated ghetto's who don't want to assimilate into society they want to change it. It's within these isolated ghetto's that aren't English or French that the toxic ideology's they lead to such atrocities are formed. We need to a massive scaling back of immigration to stop this situation worsening
To late to scale back immigration , that has been lost years ago . Leave Europe , shut the boarders and break up the ghettos , enough is enough
You play right into the hands of the extremists.........They want us to hate, and will have no greater pleasure in seeing us ripping ourselves apart.
Of course it's a religious thing. Dangerous to think otherwise. These people did these acts in the name of their religion and while some moderate muslim's will quote scripture saying they shouldn't do it, the fundamentalists will quote scriptures saying they should. ISIS goal is to establish a Caliphate ultimately across the entire world. A caliphate is a form of Islamic governance. So stop lying to yourself that this isn't a Muslim thing
I don't hate Muslim people. I hate religion and the fact that so many intelligent people can believe such bollocks. I'm afraid that, whilst not all Muslims are terrorists, just about every terrorist who wants to kill me and mine are Muslim. It's a fact that liberal apologists simply must get their heads around. It IS a religion thing. Also, every poll I've seen shows that significant numbers of Muslims in this Country have some sympathy with these kinds of terrorist attacks. I have seen figures between 30-45% in favour of Sharia Law and wishing this Country to be Muslim. As Stan rightly says, we need to hear far more from the Muslim leaders, condemning these atrocities. They are far too often conspicuous by their silence, choosing instead to complain that their religion is being singled out. The ****ing innocent people of Paris are the ones who have been singled out!! The Muslim faith has an exaggerated sense of persecution, which means that we should examine our own societies and the way that social commentators in the media say that "young, excluded youths in France and Britain have an UNDERSTANDABE sense of grievance". This simply apologises for terrorism. These people, at times are in danger of indulging young people in their deadly fantasies. We now have a situation in many Western Countries, including France and Britain, where teachers and council leaders etc. are afraid to teach or mention or commemorate certain subjects or historical events such as the holocaust and are given guidelines on how to be "culturally sensitive" towards certain communities when teaching certain historical events. I'm not religious at all, but we now have a situation where certain organisations won't call Christmas by it's name for fear of upsetting the Islamic faith!! We can't give up teaching or saying what we think is right. These attitudes also seem to have created a generation of young people who take offence incredibly easily and react in an extremely violent way. It is time for the Islamic faith to get its act together.
It's all getting a bit 'Britain First' on here chaps, and I can see reasoned and honest debate is well out of the window, with emotions running high........ Ban Islam ?? I've heard it all now...........
Why should you face a ban for stating what the majority of British people think? Islam is the political hot potato no politician can criticise without being labeled 'racist' or 'Islamophobe' and this is just the reason we are sleepwalking into this mess. Had Miliband become PM 'Islamophobia' would be a hate-crime, it shows how far some will go to appease. Where have we heard that before?...
Stainsey...............I like and respect you mate, but it's exactly this kind of comment that crushes debate. Immediately labelling people as "racist" kills all debate and is politically correct nonsense imo. Ban all religion is my argument, in public and schools at least.
I hope all those using this to have a go at 'liberals' and the BBC (for ****s sake, do you think the BBC creates suicide bombers?) recognise that at times like this you create coalitions, you pull together, you confront your enemy with a single front, you don't use it to carry through petty vendettas. You have to find common ground and in this case it's easy, we all want to protect our ability to believe different things and not be blown up and shot for it (if you don't believe this you are IS with a different face). You also build alliances with people you normally wouldn't want to sit in the same room as. In this case Iran and Russia. And tell the Saudis to **** off unless they get their house in order sharpish.
No, but the BBC and other news outlets act as apologists for suicide bombers and terrorists at times. I realise that there's nothing wrong with being a Liberal at heart. Believe it or not, I am too. However, I don't have a problem with the security services seeing every single thing I do and say. In a perfect world, they wouldn't have to, but in this ****ed up world they do imo. Agreed that we should talk to the Russians etc and we probably are behind the scenes. I also agree that the Saudis need to be brought into line. This won't happen whilst the money rules everything, but at some point there is going to have to be a huge shake up of everything. I fear this won't happen in my lifetime.
Col - It wasn't aimed at you particularly but if you read over the thread, I think it's pretty obvious the way things are going........ The anarchist slogan 'No gods, no masters' pretty much sums up my opinion on the matter.
