What a sad waste of life; everyone loses out. Fear will heighten and civil liberties will be eroded while extremists at both ends of the spectrum will gain coverage.
Absolutely. The National Front will gain ground, which in turn will lead to reprisal attacks against the Islamic community, which will lead to more and more young Moslems becoming radicalised, which is obviously what the aim of all this is. Nobody wins, everybody loses, and the world becomes a worse place to live in.
The problem is a religion which allows no questioning and does not permit or understand if you abandon it...so even the good people can be said to be brainwashed. It leaves people open to being influenced by evil people. They still have a mediaeval mindset.
All I am going to do is repeat the post I put on Facebook, as it's what I truly believe. My opinion. Nothing else. Please remember most people are good, regardless of religion, colour, creed, belief, lack of belief, job, sexuality. The world is a beautiful place. A really ****ing beautiful place. Some people are determined to destroy that reality. Be they extremists, terrorists, politicians or just ****ing idiots. We will prevail though with decency, common sense, humanity and clarity. Hate, violence and blinkered greed will lead us (and by us, I don't mean 'the West', I mean homo ****ing sapiens) one way, and one way only. **** that. **** that hard. We've found ourselves in a very dark place. Our leaders and masters have led people down a ****ing idiotic path. Our supposed gods are the comfort blankets of the deluded. Humanity can and must prevail here eventually, though some ugly decisions and ugly scenes are clearly ahead right now. We are one. I am you. Sorry for all the '****s'.

Taxi drivers also turning off their meters and taking as many people as possible to safe locations or houses that are being opened by their inhabitants, to help others. I went to bed reading of the horrifing story breaking in Paris. I awaken to read that it got worse. What is wrong with people? What is happening in this world?
Not sure I agree entirely. It's a perversion of a religion that is doing this. The Koran doesn't condone any of this; it's some people's interpretation of it that causes the problems. The peaceful, thoughtful and kind muslims who live across the street from me will be as upset as you, if not more so. Vin
