Hidden talent in the lower leagues

Seeing Dele Alli come on again for England tonight made me think that it was only last season that he was playing against us in League 1.-
Jamie Vardy (didn't we want to sign him a while back?) was at Fleetwood playing non league football not that long ago-

Long ago, hidden talent was always being found in the non league and leagues 1 and 2. I think of Keegan and Rush, Ian Wright, Stuart Pearce to name just a few.

Just makes me wonder how much other talent is out there and not being given a chance.

Maybe in todays high stake business minded game, where results are vital, is partly the reason but I think we would do well to look more into that area.

Maybe we are but just not wanting to take the chance?-

 

Didn't we just do that by signing an 18 year old striker from non league ( Shawn McCoulsky from Dulwich)...?

 

We have, and some before, but they dont seem to come through. Bolasie has to be our greatest miss here. They naturally wont all work, Akinde is one that didn't at league level.

 

It's all about having a good scouting network, and one that can identify potential

Did anyone also clock the fact that QPR signed Ben Gladwin and have loaned him back to Swindon...!!!!!!

I rated this guy last year and reckon he could have done a good job for us in the Championship.
