Liverpool should do better next season, but they may still struggle to break into that top 4. Arsenal always seem to finish there, no matter how bleak things look for them. One thing I'd like to ask is if I am the only one who gets seriously irked by the mere sight of Damien Comolli? He just makes my skin crawl with his creepy smile. I also think he should spend less time talking about how great he is and what an amazing strategy he has and actually set on with his job. There's no praise like self praise. Can you guys read or are you choosing not to ? in no way did i suggest us beating you at anfield had any bearing on the outcome of the league, i was highlighting that our "average team" (a quote from eat custards reply above) gave you probably your biggest hiding in the prem last year, now that would have had no bearing on us last year as we had a inaddequate first 11 and a terrible squad to pick up the bread and butter points from lower league teams so the win was irrelevant, this year however we have improved our squad AND first 11, more so than you have in my opinion (thats improvment to the 1st 11 for clarification, i know you lot like to twist comments to suit your own agenda)
you incinuated that match had such relevance to United that Feguson should spend time and effort addressing it ... did you not? It was a match, 3 points lost not the end of the world. We were so mortified by this loss, we lost 4 matches all season and won the prem by a country mile. we were then humiliated by Barca in the CL final, which does merit concern, but again is not the end of world. Ferguson will continue with what ever forward planning he has in mind - business as usual, what ever happened in a one off league match, no matter who the opposition was will be far out of his mind, don't flatter yourself. United took Chelsea apart 3 times in a space of a fortnight or so, do you think they're still crying about it.
What would you say your 1st 11 would be next season then? Cos I've seen more than one 'pool fan pick a 1st 11 that had only one of Adam, Downing and Henderson in, and some that didn't have any of them in.
Your average team, did a great job of beating UTD, but Wolves also beat UTD. So you could have beaten UTD 11 - 0, the outcome would have been the same, UTD 1st, Liverpool 6th.
Your missing my point, im not incinuating that you were mortified by the loss at all, the only reason i brought up that match was because EAT CUSTARD refered to our players as average, i merely pointed out that our average players gave you your heaviest loss and a pretty one sided one at that. I think you'll agree the main reason for the defeat was the lack of strength in your midfield, which again was exposed in the champions league final for the 2nd time running.
