Other companies have carried on when the recession has been the same for all of us

yes they did, but I seem to remember that he couldn't raise the capital during the recession, and when things started to improve the increasing cost per brick made the plans unaffordable.

I actually don't blame the council for one moment- it is clear that there is no room/demand for both the HHP & the Bretonside developments. Partisan views aside bretonside is probably of more benefit to the wider population and once that was agreed HHP was dead in the water.

BTW the fans made a considerable contribution to saving the club, but it wouldnt have been saved without the backing of JB (or a.n.other). I dont believe PAFC fans have the wherewithall to buy out the club and run it properly. It we did, why have we not started the ball rolling already? especially given that some people seem to think JB is the anti-christ..

Companies carrying on is generally achieved by cutting costs and reducing investment through a recession. That's a bit different to anyone having the appetite to build (and especially to finance) speculative property developments which you then have to let out to those very business tenants who are cutting back rather than looking to expand.

To develop property, you have to borrow money and nobody will be lending against that background. That's compounded when it's the banks themselves that have taken the worst hit.
