Ridiculous. As someone said, we invented the game, there is no need to qualify the Football League by putting English first as the game was invented here. They call it The Open not The British open for the same reason. The statement about the rebranding acknowledging the part clubs pay in the game makes you wonder where they get these ****s from.
We call it The Open here, but outside the UK it's called the British Open. If you're in the US for the US Open, they just call it The Open.
Can't the call the Premier League Division 1 and continue down the ladder until they have to include North, Midlands, South, etc.? It seems like they change things to confuse people.
