    Every year, each storm, hurricane, typhoon, cyclone etc is named after a person's name if the first is Abigail, the second will be Barrie and the third claudia, fourth doogie. They take alternate names being male or female. There was a hilarious time in the met office circles a few years ago when SN's bird and her ilk were complaining that they were all English names, so now the people of the country can name them as they please.

    It's the World meteorological society that actually names tropical storms. They do it so those idiot Yanks don't get confused.

    Storm Abigail is the first time a wee bit of bad weather has been named by the Met office. Which probably means the UK is as thick as the USA now.

    Not to worry because after Abi we are going to get hit with the tail of hurricane Kate.

    Happy days.
