    My favorite players:

    Lloris
    Cheery Cheese Ledley Alderweireld Beni
    Dembélé Dier
    Bale Eriksen Lennon
    Kane

    Reserves

VDV Adebayor Defoe Lamela Huddlestone Krancjar Soldado

+ Danny Rose...the best goal in NLD history & maybe the best assist too, now. Started over the halfway line and Kane only needed one touch on it.

Only a pedant could disagree.....obviously the change from 1999 to 2000 is much more to be celebrated than the real start of a century....

....but the reason the day works properly is that the first hour is labelled 0. As YV says there was no year zero which messes everything up for ever.

Let's all just agree that more important that actual facts, which are vastly overrated, is that we all want Ginola in our teams!

And surely time is all relative anyway. We base our dates on an estimation of a birthday of a possible fictional person.

    Robbo
    Corluka King Woodgate BAE
    Sandro Parker
    Modric Kane Bale
    Berbatov

Kane playing in the hole but lots of movement between the front four. I'd just tell them to get on with it, which I'm sure would work 90% of the time.

Subs: Lloris, Dawson, VDV, Lennon, Defoe, Carrick and Eric Dier cos he can play anywhere.

I'm assuming Ginola was past his best by 2000 but not sure. Oh sod it - take out Carrick and stick him on the bench. Can always play Dier or King in MF if it comes to it.

I can genuinely say, I never expected this thread to turn into a philosophy discussion when I thought of it.

Or for it to give me the idea I've just had whilst writin this, which is a movie in which David Ginola plays himself in the lead role as some sort of cooler version of Doctor Who.

I was all set to make the same point to PS before I checked :D

The difference is between years being used as a unit of time or as a date, I guess. As a date, when you hit 00:01 Jan 1st, you're in the first day of the first month of the new year so that's how it's written 1/1/xxxx, rather than viewing it as a unit of time where it'd be 0 months, 0 days and 1 minute into the new year.

It's amazing what no Spurs games for a week does to us. ****ing international breaks! <grr>
