Vardy obviously and I remember Flowers and Izzet having particularly great months 15 and 16 years ago, respectively

They had a great campaign in 1964 and went on an astonishing run to the semis and ended up coming 3rd

This probably isn't the right place to ask this question, but I can't think of anywhere better. The visitors to this thread are an erudite bunch and if you lot can't help me, I suspect no one can. It concerns the title lyrics to the popular Hanna-Barbera cartoon 'Wally Gator'.

I'm happy with the first line; it's the second line where my confusion arises.

A percolator is something that forces liquid through something porous - the most famous example being a coffee percolator which forces boiling water through coffee grounds. However, this doesn't seem to apply in this case.

Can someone explain what Wally Gator is percolating, and why this only happens when he really starts to romp?

    Thanks in advance,

    Huggy.

When he really starts to romp, he just sounds like a percolator, but I understand your bewilderment.

Interesting theory. 'He's the greatest percolator' certainly scans a lot better than 'he just sounds like a percolator'.

That said, does anyone sound like a percolator when they're romping? I'd find it a bit odd.
