At least we will still have a country in 10 years time under the Tory's, and not given away to some immigrant's under the Labour.party
A political debate with a southerner is completely pointless - the Tories are better for people with money and Labour are better for people who don't earn as much (like a large number in the North East) Neither are good for everyone! "Labour left us with a massive deficit" yet the reason for that deficit was the fact that Labour had to borrow money to bail out Northern Rock - where a large number of well off people had their money - if Labour hadn;t bailed them out, there would be no deficit - but these people would also no longer have their houses/savings etc All in all they're all lying twats! "We won;t be cutting working tax credit" - a few months later "we're cutting working tax credit" every party is full of bullshit and it only depends on what bullshit you want to believe!
Yeh your right. Although the labour do it a bit like ROBIN HOOD.take off the rich and give to the poor. However the tories.take off the not so poor and give it to the poor. Leaving the rich alone something like that.
It's funny because the solution presented by labour is to tax the top earners more and that's been proven not to work. This is referred to as a 'paradoxical truth', whereby rich people are not squeezed to the point of ****ing off out of the country for good, but they are put on lower tax bands which yields MORE tax. Then consider what rich people spend money on. Houses - Stamp Duty Travel - Air Fair Duty (for first class/business class) Fast Cars - VAT/Petrol/Insurance premiums Employing People - Income Tax, NI contributions, Pension contributions Expensive restaurants/food - VAT Jewellery and expensive clothing - VAT Director Dividends/Bonuses - Taxable income Inheritance Tax Council Tax Mansion Tax If they got put on a ridiculous tax band, you'd see them disappear faster than a McDonald's Burger at Fat Camp.
Good point terry However it dosnt stop the tories taking it of the slightly better off and giving it to the poor
1 rich man buys 1 tv but 100 ordinary men buy 100 tv's resulting inmore vat and also employment if the rich man decided to make the tv's over here and not go for the massive profit margins by exploiting 3rd world workers - simples
Slightly better off, you mean those who fall into the 40% tax bracket, albeit marginally? I'd be more inclined to have a dig at the government's complete inability (this goes for Labour, Tories... the lot) to balance the benefits books. It seems all the money is in the hands of wrong claimants such as corrupt arab gangs who have manipulated the system, money that should be with the needy and the sick. The solution isn't to tax the rich more, to help those who need it most, the first point of call needs to be to get the house in order and make sure anybody claiming benefits, such as 'single' mums with 30 kids treating them all to trips to Dubai every 3 weeks, are cut off at the source. Those who are 'slightly' better off would be getting shafted like bitches in say Canada or France, albeit Canada's public services seem to work a lot better, they would, they are much cleverer voters on the whole.
It still creates jobs over here if he sources his product from overseas, plus he pays import duty and VAT at the door. The more he exploits '3rd world' (cheap foreign) labour, the better margins he can make over here, it's all going into the economy one way or another.
Being asked to pay 10% more on income tax will make little difference to what the rich can spend on their still massive disposable income..
It's the principle though mate, 5p is nothing yet half of Britain were gobbing non-stop about carrier bag charges. You're talking about a top percent of earners, that 1% if they're taxed another 10% would turn their backs and then you're looking at a massive deficit. Labour create that vacuum in the economy every time they attempt to hijack more of the rich people's money, then they end up borrowing to fill holes. I've been getting reliably informed by Labour supporters since 1999 that the NHS is dead and being privatised, the fact of the matter is, the less we owe the better our economy will grow and the better chance it has of survival. Right now, we're slap bang in the middle of the storm created by years of voting swaying from left to right and back again. Stability with one party is the only way the NHS will be saved, not by taxing rich people more, that just won't work. Edit: That's my view anyway... stability is key.
Slightly better off. I mean people on 20% tax. On PAYE there the people paying for the welfare state. Ther are the ones getting shafted
Yeh mate no rise in 9 years for me. However when I claim my oap.in Jan 2017 I will receive 127 pounds per week before my 20% tax. Not good
Thing is terry, the deficit, if not for northern rock crisis, would've been much less than when labour took over (if they hadn't filled tho hole left by the idiots that ran than bank into the ground) they borrowed money for the people of Britain. Not to fill a hole they'd created but to support people who could've lost everything if labour hadn't done that. The tories have created the insurance scheme in case that happens so it won't eat into the deficit. I agree totally with everything else you say though!!
A 10% increase in the top earners is just taking it back to the level it was for years without them leaving. The problem we have is actually getting the top earners to pay their taxes what ever level is set..
