although im a qpr fan i cant help but be jeolous of that magificent chelsea youth set up of yester year
in particular the great barry bridges the great bobby tambling and the great jimmy greaves and the great peter osgood
amazingly all products of the chelsea youth set up
imagine if chelsea had fielded that side knowbody but knowbody could have stood against them
for those of you chelsea fans that were too young to remember these players i promise you they were all legends in there own lifetime
do any of you remember these players, unbelievabley behind these two you could have had the high scoring george grayham and johny hollins
what a team you would have had

In spite of the bitter rivalry I had to admit that Bestie was my favourite player - I was relieved when we played Leeds in the 1970 FA cup final instead of Man Utd; Best's form in the competition was electric he was at the height of his powers and remembering what the state of that Wembley pitch I was convinced he would've torn us a new one - outstanding audacious talent.

Sadly a distant memory of The Doc's "Little Diamonds" the last time we successfully we brought on youngsters into the first team. Nowadays we're going for the short term option of buying off the peg and our problems this season is payback for a neglectful youth policy over the years.

    Both before my time mate.
By all accounts Best was the best.
As the only other Chelsea team to win the league besides the Roman teams of the last ten years, surely the 1955 title winners should be in with a shout.

What fantastic memories this post has brought back! Thanks qprted I saw Greavsie in my first game at the Bridge in April 1959 against Everton (still got the programme) After that I never missed a game until 1973, the day I got married . All sorts of aggro at the reception while I was trying to find out the score in days before technology of today. Tambling,Bridges, Chopper, Ozzie, Bonetti--all still Gods in my book!

qprted-- You've done it again and sent me into another spell of nostalgia. Mick Greenaway, who created " the Shed" when beforehand it had been a very quiet spot.
I'll never forget Mick who followed Chelsea everywhere , home and away, competition or friendly. I once took my wife and two young kids on a holiday to Torquay and we stayed in a flat above a big pub. Chelsea happened to be on a close season tour of the West Country. On the day they played Torquay United, my wife was getting the kids ready for bed, so I nipped downstairs for a beer into an empty bar. Suddenly the door opened and in charged all the travelling Chelea fans and the bar was packed solid. There behind me was Mick bawling his head off, and about to deafen me. I said to him, " how did they get on today Mick?" He turned round to his mates and said " Does anyone know what the score was?" Priceless. Sadly he died too young!

yes chelsea shed end was was the qprs loft was modelled on including using all the chelsea songs and recycleing them
and putting qpr where chelsea was but it was really that the shed end had 50 arsenal 50tottenham 50 west ham 50 west ham
and 300 millwall, the reason why the millwall were so massive was that they played in white crew kneck shirts with a lion on the chest
chelsea played with blur crew kneck and a lion on the chest so that really was the facination,
DONT FORGET WITH 5000 SKINS THE SHED END WAS THE MOST POWERFULL IN LONDON
and it was trully amazing to see that kind of power unleashed onto the streets all those skin head girls as well numberd probabley 500 they were strange they uswedc to kiss me and call me baby skinhead
