It could be that Ferriby is about 5 minutes by car from where he lives.

Perhaps the root cause of them staying away, is not as prevelant at Ferriby as it is at the KC?

Exactly, my son lives now in the house I used to live in just round the corner from him, and I pick him up on match days and it take me 20 minutes to get to the KC.

Well the obvious answer is it's harder to hide in a crowd and shout abuse about his family at the U21s so he can watch the games in peace.

The family are aware of how a minority view them at the KC so despite not having to, and despite still underwriting us and where we currently sit in the league, they made a collective decision to stay away to help calm things down.

Rather than making sneering comments about it, you should be happy about it.

Unless you're the type that will criticise and sneer anyhow of course, no matter what they do.

I wouldn't sneer and criticise them for giving up on the name change idea.
I don't think the family got abused by anybody hiding.

It makes perfect sense to me, his absence from the KC is to diffuse the toxic atmosphere and hopefully to get some of the stay-sways to return to the KC, there's no such issue at Ferriby, mainly due to the demographic of those who attend.

I don't think if the Allams returned to the KC it would make any difference to the atmosphere. I can't see it resulting in a 19.04 chant again as the name change issue has been won. Even if the Allams made another application before the end of the year I can't see them winning.

Them not being there has made a massive difference to the atmosphere at the ground and I commend them for deciding to stop attending.

I agree to a point with this, that their staying away has by default of their action created a much better atmosphere about the place. However I am not so sure that is their reason for staying away, more the fact that they lost face over the name change issue.

It's wrong that the owners don't feel they can attend home matches. I'm not blaming the fans for that. I don't think they would be any kind of target for the fans. The atmosphere doesn't seem to have changed when the owners stopped attending. It was a lot later.

If the Allams can't sell the club for an acceptable price until we get promoted will this mean they wont attend games at all this season?

I don't think it's as simple as that. I think there's something over and above any chanting that resulted in the decision, plus a fair amount of the ire was between fans, with a fair few few being unhappy tha a few were using the match as a protest, rather than supporting the team.

I don't think it reflects well that the owner feels the need to stay away, especially given where we are.

They announced at the start of the season that they wouldn't be attending any games at the KC this season.

Had they continued to attend, I think the City Till We Die and We Say No chants would have continued, their non-attendance has ended it all and it's gone back to being just about the football.

It's obviously a shame they're not attending games of the football club they own, but as they're entirely responsible for the bad feeling created in the first place, I've little sympathy.

Based on the car I saw Ehab taking delivery of a couple of weeks ago, he's not short of a bob. Similarly I can understand how he could drive that car to Ferriby but not to the KC (it takes the Chelsea tractor phrase onto a whole new level).

He never went to the KC in his really flash cars anyway, he always went in his Discovery.
