Do you not get the point that you have the same fixation on United?

 

I think United didn't follow the script and he's still bitter about it. Safe bet that he jumped on the bandwagon in 98 when Arsene reinvented football and Arsenal were set to dominate for years to come. Didn't quite work out like that...!

 

We did go on to win the title at Old Trafford thank you very much, now boy what an achievement that is.

 

That's sort of my point made for me again. The achievement is winning the league. Winning it at Old Trafford is no different to winning it anywhere else unless you have some weird thing about United.

 

To me winning the league at WHL twice is something special.To win the league at your bitterest rivals surely ranks higher than winning it elsewhere

 

That's a bit different given it's a local rivalry going back 100 years or more. 87 seems to have lost to United on Football Manager and hated them ever since.

 

Did it make up for all the titles you spectacularly bottled?

I remember that, I watched it in a bar in New York. One of your few successes during another great United era. I believe it was Fergie who ultimately broke Wenger.

 

Few success? We went on to win the double that year, our second under Wenger, went on to win the Fa Cup next year, making it back-back cup wins, then went on to make massive history by going unbeaten as champions in 2004, and then again winning the cup in 2005, by beating you. In 2006 we didn't end with anything, but did make it to UCL final and was only what, 14 minutes away from winning the damn thing. So hardly what I'd term as a 'few successes'.

From 2002-2005 we were the top dogs in the land. Even when you won the league in 2003, it was more down to us bottling it, rather than you being better, we should have nailed that league title, we were by far the better team, and went on to prove it the year later when we went unbeaten.

Nobody can break Wenger as well, he's shown that despite his shortcomings, and even when he's been badly beaten, that he remains to his stubborn ways, he's like a boxer who refuses to go down, the fact that he's been with Arsenal for 2 decades shows he can never be broken. There were some really low moments during his time at Arsenal, and he still stuck it out, and stuck around.

 

So you agree, only a few successes.
