Off Topic Doping in athletics

I don't believe it is only the Russians yet it is clear that a lot of people in high places in Russia were aware of this and allowing it to continue. I cant believe it is only athletics this is happening in, yet we have given them the World Cup. I wonder if competitors from other sports have been involved.

Russians, Eastern Europeans, Asians and Africans have inherently corrupt societies as it's an accepted part of their culture. Not racist, just true. No surprise at all. One reason I rarely watch athletics or cycling. It's a sham.

 

Is it in football and other sports, With all that going on they managed to get the Winter Olympics and the World Cup and also you see f1 leader Bernie Eccleston almost licking Putins arse at the Russian F1 Grand Prix, it is all shameful.

 

I'm sure there is doping in football but my understanding is that there are regular, unannounced tests that are difficult to avoid. Being a team sport my guess is that doping is less likely to have an impact on results. At least I hope so.

 

No surprises with that, let's be honest doping had been rife in the eastern block going back to the 70's onwards. Look at the East Germany, the women were more like men.

 

there are even more {ir}regular unannounced tests athletics...unless you are Russian! As said, I am sure there are many more countries involved in doping but maybe not to the level of Russia. Many have a history but most eastern European countries these days don't have the cash to dope and mask it. Russia may be the first of many but never underestimate the ability of the country to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.....and generally f*** things up. Firstly they got caught at doping and now thye can't cover it up!
But while I agree the Africans have many countries with widespread corruption, I never saw it as extending to sport.....only business and self-promotion.

 

When Wales got knocked out of the Euros by Russia there was a question mark over one of their drug takers, oops I meant players.

When doping was at its worse, most of the East German women looked like they'd should be in the men's events,it really was a hard looking group.
