If he's as good as you say, then someone else will take him on, after he's had a month or 2 out of the limelight.

What he said was vitriolic football nonsense, but if you're a high profile lawyer, then actually spouting it in front of a camera when he was probably the wrong side of a few beers is extremely foolhardy.

Maybe he was on a final warning? Obviously that doesn't makes quite as good a story for the Echo but its possible.

And yes, he was stupid. Shouldn't have cost him his job though, unless as I said, he was treading water already.

    Not sure what this means.

'you're getting sacked in the morning' isn't calling for a manager to be sacked btw - more a prediction of how the owners will act in view of the result. I think we all agree, keeping Mourinho is worth it for the comedy value atm. why would we want him sacked?

I'm referring to the Chav lawyer getting sacked for calling Liverpool fans scouse scum.

There's plenty on here who have referred to United fans as Manc Scum, Chavs as rent boys etc. Just seems a very silly decision by the firm, unless there's more to it. However if its just for his comments and blog, bonkers.

Pity he wasn't a member here then and let fly with his comments, he would still have his job. As a high profile lawyer he can't afford to be abusive on social media or in front of Chelsea tv - he knows that and more than likely it's part of his contract, so it's his own fault.

Its that big an issue today that the government have an advert advising young people to check their social media sites with a fine tooth combe and delete any comments that may offend. It's just another way for companies to find piss easy excuses to get rid of people without going through proper channels.

One of our posters overstepped the line(KPR)and got a life ban, one of yours got banned by sweats for something similar(can't think of his username but he was from Widnes).

We do a good job of policing ourselves considering what this site was like when we migrated from BBC 606.

    It's a shocker that ad.

As if you go trawling some teenagers social media accounts as part of the recruitment process. <doh>

Teenagers chat ****, like music, shagging and getting pissed. It has no relevance to their suitability for an apprenticeship, as you know that already. I'd never dream of searching their personal social media accounts for an insight into their life, it's ****ing weird.

The only piece of decent advice, is have a sensible e-mail address, and not, [email protected] or whatever <laugh>

That's horseshit. Kpr wasn't banned for calling United fans manc scum. He was banned for his constant mocking of tragedies and death. The same with Comas and CpofL.

This is way nowhere near the same thing. Just a silly jibe in the heat of the moment.

Anyone not using social media responsibly when they have been warned that it's looked at as part of their employment terms, are fools to run riot on it. Similarly, anyone trying to pass themselves off as a professional - like this lawyer - lose all credibility the minute they label an entire demographic as 'scum'. I would never look at him the same again if he was representing me or if it was my doctor or other 'professional' I had contact with - and this would be exactly the same whether it was scouse, manc, brummie, geordie, or whatever, in front of the word 'scum' <ok>

I agree its mental but employers are using it to their advantage. Which is a problem. They are using the flimsiest excuses available to get rid of staff without consequence.

And yeh, [email protected] probably isn't the greatest idea <laugh>

That lawyer is a thick, posh twat. He doesn't even get his facts right. He says Ancelotti is much older than Mourinho. 4 years!

Then you're taking it s little to seriously. It was a football fan and he was, let's be honest here, referring to Liverpool fans.

I look forward to you telling off the next person on here to use the phrase, 'manc scum'. Castrate that ****er.

Exactly, he overstepped the mark and got his just desserts, so what's bullshit about that?

Again you're only looking at it from your own point of view, if you were the boss of a law firm would you tolerate an employee bringing its name into disrepute because of a football result?

Some people have a different agenda and have less tolerance than you.

If you haven't got enough self control when you know what's at risk then you have to take the consequences. Rant about some football fans vs keep my well paid, highly respected job .... mmm tough call.

I'm taking it in the context of where it was said and the standing of the person who said it, and not on what was said which, let's be honest is par for the course amongst rival football fans.

The person that blabbed first got sacked for his hissyfit and the second one that blabbed was his boss explaining the views of the chav were not the views of his company and wouldn't be tolerated.

If you feel so sorry for him why not have a word with your boss about giving him a start.<whistle>

Remember when this wasn't an issue? Because some dick didnt shove a camera in your face or your boss wasn't digging around your personal stuff?

What tends to happen in these things is the sacked lawyer is hounded out of his hone, town and forced to move away because these sorts of thing attract the very worst people who take it upon themselves to ruin lives.
