No different reaction from me, why would there be? Appalling behaviour is appalling behaviour whatever team you support. I make no distinction.

He's a lawyer, with that comes a certain responsibility. I doubt any law firm wants people who are publically and openly bigoted representing them, similarly any clients he may have. He crossed the line, he was sacked, right decision <ok>

I find it slightly amusing that it all came off the back of 'you're getting sacked in the morning'. A chant that's so common place now it's heard practically every week and is about as inoffensive as a chant could be.

True, but complaining about remembering the dead, at this time.... Same as that bellend who plays for WBA who's more famous for moaning about poppies than being a footballer.

Fair enough if people don't want want to wear them or disagree with remembering the dead, however they lost their lives but to moan about it and make a big deal. Morons. Just stfu and leave others too it.

I've not seen you call for many on here to be sacked. Quite a few say some unpleasant things about Manchester, Manchester United and the fans.

    Perhaps I am wrong.

But you're only looking at it from your perspective, he feels he has a duty to his community back home not to wear one due to soldiers being responsible for deaths there.
Tbh he can't blame anyone for their reaction to him refusing to wear a poppy, its not the law to have to wear one and many don't but him being who he is and where he's from deffo puts him in the spotlight on the issue.

He can do as he likes. Why he has to make a big deal out of it? No idea. Billions of people don't wear them but its this no mark footballer who pops up every year. Dickhead, we got it 3 years ago, just disappear now, thanks.

If that lawyer was any good they'd have brushed that under the carpet.

Instead they've seized on it and sacked him before daybreak.

He was patently a tool anyway.

You might have a point if this wasn't a small community football forum as opposed to a club tv channel with a few million subscribers.

Apparently he was one of the best in his field. And lawyers are tools. That's part and parcel

Yet he plies his very lucrative trade on the 'enemies' shores....

He's a ****ing bell end page, who's pandering to his ****er mates back home with overtly public gestures that show his supposed allegiance.

If he finds the English so repulsive he should **** off back home and play for Derry for £100 a week, the tit.

In any case, remembrance day is about all of those who fell, across the ages. If it wasn't for those British soldiers who died in the 2 WW's, then that beaut wouldn't have the freedom and opportunity to make his poxy gestures.

I personally couldn't give a flying **** or not if he wears one, his decision, live or die by the sword.

You don't get canned without even getting the opportunity to state your case, unless your a complete trumpet.

I never said he wasn't tobes, I just pointed out his point of view, he knows and knew the consequences of not wearing one and the stick he gets is of his own making.

Possibly. However he was voted the best in his field just a year ago. So he must have been half decent at his job.

Being sacked for what he's said is mental though.

He appears to revel in it mate, as it presumably gets him some proper kudos back home.

I've no time for it, when in Rome and all that.....if he felt that strongly about it, maybe he should have elected not to play, with a 'niggle', I could have half respected that, as he'd be upholding his principles without making a public spectacle of it.

The fact he's more famous for it than for being a player says it all. Gets him in the news and probably a few pints when he goes home.
