He puts a controversial "half quote" to create a mass of mag laughing at Allardyce and then posts some rubbish about our bench costing over £40m with £13m Lens (£8m actual price) and £10m Borini (£7.75m actual price) being on there as actual prices he has quoted! I thought, in all honesty, that he was red and white but I'm beginning to doubt it very much with the ****e he prints/tweets
He's a Journalist, he'll appreciate anyone reading his articles etc and if that means printing something 'controversial' then I can't image he's that arsed. Also how well informed are you that you know the exact prices of the player in comparison to him - an SAFC journo who writes for the Echo? Seems you've got your knickers in a twist about nothing I'd say.
Sky and BBC (2 normally ITK organisations) report Lens as an "around £8m" fee initially and Borini as an initial £7.75m - yet he has them as 13m and 10m respectively. Both may end up costing us that much but only when clauses are fulfilled - much like the Wickham deal the up front cost is not the amount being quoted by him. If this Sunderland Echo journo is better informed than 2 of biggest investors in the PL (well, sky in particular) then I'd be very surprised! Also - it wouldn't be an issue if he wasn't using it as a stick to beat Allardyce/Sunderland with but that's the way it comes across to me. He also tweeted part of a sam allardyce comment which the mags jumped on with glee (regarding when we'd got back to 2-2 in the Everton gfame) but didn't tweet the full iteration of what Allardyce was saying (quite a lengthy thread on here about that one - all started by a mag as well!!) Imagine if someone said "Chelsea have signed fred bloggs the 18 year old for £43m" when, in reality, they've paid £500k and, if he starts and scores 20 goals in the league and gets a full international start and goal before his 21st birthday, the other 43m become apparent - this is a half million pound player until the clauses dictate otherwise same as Borini and Lens - and Borini hasn;t even scored yet so doubt he's hitting many of his clauses!
I'm not that bothered about any journo. They're all ****ers anyway. It's not their job to report the news, it's their job to sell papers.
****ing hell. I must be a Mag. He's no mag mate. Take it these are tweets you're referring to? We'll have easily spent 20m on those two with signing on fee and agent fees and he's clearly trying to display a contrast. Think you're getting worked up over nowt Marcus. There's nothing in there that suggest he's a mag what so ever imo.
To be fair I saw Bri with an Alan Shearer toothbrush in his basket at B&M the other day, he said it was for cleaning the cat's arse with but now it all makes sense.
Figures he'd bring out the most boring range of products imaginable. You should see his shoe buffing set.
No mate an article n the echo which literally says Borini cost 10m and lens cost 13m. Transfer fees only. Nothing to do with signing on fees. Borini and lens were 8m each ish (7.75 for Borini) He also started the Allardyce rubbish about him saying 2-2 is as good as a win and made it look like he meant it regardless of the result.
Here you are mate: http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...-the-club-s-problems-1-7559925?#axzz3r2e6l6Vw There's a. Paragraph which states: "Sunderland’s two big-money additions from this summer, and the one from 12 months earlier, aren’t even deemed good enough for a place in the starting XI." Now Rodwell he's right about but to use that line referring to a just returning from injury Borini and a Jeremain lens who is not really what you need in a defensive setup (and who I don't think Sam has worked out how to get him involved yet) is bollocks! Messi didn't start for Barca the other week after returning from injury. Was he deemed "not good enough"?
Really not seeing your gripe fella. He sounds like fan in turmoil to me, exaggerating his frustrations like so many of us do. certainly not coming across a fan of our rivals. Just don't see it.
Probably making a mountain out of a molehill - just seems that those figures are nowhere near the actual amount paid by SAFC initially (except the Rodwell one) and to say "deemed not good enough" when it is more likely that Borini still getting back to fitness after an injury and Lens may not be the right type of player for that game is bollocks IMO! As for the tweet where he quoted sam as saying "we've got back from 2-0 down to 2-2, come on lads that's like a win" but didn't quote the bit that followed where sam added that we should've pulled back and tried to keep solid instead of throwing the kitchen sink at them (after the Everton game) seems a little inflammatory to me. Press being press I suppose
That's a bit underhand to be fair to Marcus, I can see why you'd have a gripe with him about that, given he's supposed to be one of your own. That's just a bit of **** stirring from where I'm sitting. Just because a player is on the bench it doesn't mean Allardyce has deemed neither of them 'good enough' he's just not chosen them for that game, which is what any manager would do when assessing their opponents. To be fair to Allardyce, if it wasn't for M'Vila's rush of blood, he'd have got a decent point or maybe snatched the game with those tactics and everybody would be saying he played the tactics perfectly. I doubt Sam Allardyce looks at either player as 'not good enough', they're both decent and I'd expect them both to start plenty of games this season under him.
