Absolutely. And nobody is disagreeing that Cedric is our best right back, and I'd be confident Koeman feels the same. So therefore when he picks someone ahead of Cedric at RB, there must be a reason. THAT is the only real thing that people are speculating about, and trying to discuss.
I like the look of the table after this weekend's matches...not only 7th, but a tiny buffer zone. It is always alarming when one loss shoots you down the table...good old goal difference.
Well blow me over with a feather. What was that French saying Chilco used the other week about things being the same?
Exactly. I rated Alderweireld massively, but slated the decision to play him at RB and DM. Yoshida is a good player, but the only negative from a very good away performance is having to play a centre back out of position (for whatever reason), so people are talking about it. Read the thread again, a few people were trying to silence other's very valid opinions with relentless positivity.
How can you be silenced by 'relentless positivity'? That seems odd. People were saying that we should wait until the end of the game before declaring it a tactical disaster. If anything is confusing here, it's how people get mixed up between 'disagreeing' and 'silencing'. Disagreement is what makes the forum go round. I personally only object when disagreement is met with unnecessary abuse. Certainly wouldn't want anybody feeling 'silenced' - but they have to be able to state their case (and as has been said a billion times, we're kinda all in agreement on this topic) without being unpleasant. The only disagreement that I can see is that people are questioning the validity of reasons why Maya might get picked ahead of Cedric, because at the end of the day, none of us know.
The current number one team in the World (don't shoot me, I don't create the rankings ) play Toby Alderwiereld at RB
Gee whizz I would hate to get involved in a debate or argument with you lot over SOMETHING THAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT if you can get this acrimonious over SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT MATTER ONE JOT. I think some people have forgotten that in a squad of footballers there are many strongest teams as what really defines the side you field is how you nullify the potential threat of the opposition, how you exploit their weakness and how you retain your strengths. I think Ronald got it spot on and I know you should not always say the end justifies the mean but we played exceptionally well and we won. PS I am supposed to be the grumpy miserable old sod on here and I am getting concerned that some people are trying to usurp my role!
And to make it go round that means understanding that someone may disagree with you, or even (in this case) agree with you but offer up an alternative reason or explanation. When one of these two things happen, people should try an open response, not one that says "fact (boom!)" and then hits the hammer on the little wooden thingy that I have forgotten what is called, as if they are judge, jury and executioner. This just closes the conversation. Endless times it has been proven on here that you can disagree nicely.
This forum has got barmy after two wins in two weeks. We lose at home to Stoke I may consider turning off the wifi
Some days I am so pissed of with the world especially when my gammy leg aches and on my way back from the newsagents I've had to wade through all the litter from MuckDonalds that the kids chuck down in the street and turn the place into a ****hole then all I want to do is to take it out on some gormless poster who hasn't had the sense to read my original post properly and then comes on here with some bloody pathetic attempt at peace making and trying to make out we are all bloody reasonable when clearly we aren't and I don't agree with half the crap people say and I am jolly well going to let them know and I will never let an argument end while I am losing .Then on the other hand I might be in one of my more reasonable moods and agree with everyone completely as I know that we can always rely on the common sense approach of the posters on this message board.
