On a different tack, several posters have said that many of Saints' passes went astray. Could this have anything to do with Saints away strip being predominantly green? I was at Sunderland yesterday and from my perspective it wasn't simple to pick out Saints players in green shirts, against the green backdrop of the pitch. As a counter-argument, I was in the back row of the stand, looking down at the (very distant) pitch, I'm colour-blind, the players are at ground level so they wouldn't have seen same background colour, and their eyesight is about 35 years younger than mine. But, as with the famous Man U Grey Shirts debacle, it could be that the green shirts will be quietly pensioned off, and Saints will return to their yellow second strip. This would mean that the fans could chant 'Yellow, Yellow', rather than 'Green Army', in a West Country accent straight off the Aviva Insurance adverts (even though this does sound quite funny)
Southampton away isnt exactly the first fixture I look out for. I tell you what mind, its proper stotting down right now.
Could we breed Cedric with Maya? Then again we might get someone who defends like Cedric and goes forward like Maya. Vin
I've always loved the yellow strip but we are undefeated in the green so we don't want to go changing yet. And at the start of the season I did, of course, predict on this very forum that no-one would beat us wearing these shirts.
How is that negative? Wanting us to put out our best side against better sides is negative? Riiiiiiiiiiiigggghhhhtttttt...............this place is a joke at times
If you read my post again, you will see that I acknowledge that Yoshida doesn't get to the byeline, like Cedric, so stop trying to rewrite my posts to fit your argument. What I said was that Yoshida does get into forward positions to support the wide player, which makes him available to support the attack. My problem, as a Saints fan, is that no matter how well we perform, as a team, some people will go out of their way to find fault with certain individual players, even when they haven't put a foot wrong. I just don't get it!
But the Saints fans have always picked on someone...unfortunately it appears Yoshi has been targeted regardless of his value to the squad
There are those on here that will share your concerns, I expected Cedric and Romeu to start too, but there are others that will dispute your/our hypothetical options, however what do you want from the Saints and RonKo? He made tactical decisions based on what he perceived to be the main problem, you quickly forget the poor showing in the 2nd half of the Bournemouth game, he had to address that and seemingly his call for this game did the trick. You have no idea whether Cedric may have had health problems on the day? Horses for courses, when it works we win, when it doesn't we fail to secure the points. No harm in airing your opinions, but don't get on your high horse when challenged, there is a possibility you may be wrong, so when we agree with you we all end up being wrong.
Tintin, I wasn't happy we started with Yoshida either, because of his ineffectiveness going forward and I felt that could have hurt our chances of winning a very winnable game. However we won so I hold my hands up, I was wrong.
Would you like to join in the debate on how we should have won.? If you don't find the enthusiasm I will understand.
