Quite right Fran. If I ever have to take antibiotics these days, I always eat loads of live yoghurt during and after the course, to repopulate the gut flora. Works a treat, and the alternative is uncomfortable.
In other news, the nice BT Openreach men are installing fibre in the road outside my house. Buffering streams will soon be a thing of the past!
Murray in the final after winning in straight sets. Good match...Ferrer broke Murray a few times...just not as often as Murray broke him.
I've been out all day and nowhere near any internet access so coming home to a Murray win on top of a Saints win (and a Chelsea loss ) has been wonderful.
Moving this over from the match thread and the chat about Alfa Romeos: In a former life working for an automotive company in Wales I designed the heater / climate control units for the 147, 156 and 159. Bet you didn't know parts of Alfa's were designed and manufactured in the UK! (p.s. did they work in your Alfas?) and so you know why bits fall off Alfas and not off Opels - Opel give a supplier a specification 4 years before the car goes into production, the spec never changes, it's tested endlessly and the first time it's fitted to a car it's perfect (if a little boring). Alfa gives a supplier a sketch on the back of a *** packet 4 years before the car goes into production, you do all the initial design work, the head of Alfa sees a better design on a Toyota at a show a year later and sends you another sketch and you start again. Repeat this 3 times and you have the most up to date design possible but only 6 months to get it in production. Result: looks great, will probably break down after 3 months. If you buy a new Alfa wait 2 years after it's launched so all those little niggles are ironed out!
Seriously Serbia. Where are you living now. I really really would like to buy you a beer/coffee and have a chat!
Long way to come for a beer! (Serbia) The company was AB Automotive in Cardiff but sadly they gave up automotive a few years back - a tough market to compete in - and you never know what the software geeks are writing! It really wouldn't surprise me if the bosses at VW knew nothing about their defeat software!
I haven't been to Serbia but do venture into Europe. I'll let you know if I can get over there. If they'd hung around, design and manufacture for automotive is booming currently I the UK. The high fliers are Nissan and JLR at the moment. I have meeting at Nissan next week. If you'd still been doing that, we may have met up!!
Yes there have been honey and lemon drinks and Nurofen cold and flu. He's suffering quietly (where's the sarcasm smilie?) in the armchair. He has said one day he will just sneeze and drop dead!
Whiteley, look after him. It's pretty damn serious the condition he is in. You need to be sympathetic and be there for him. Understand. Don't expect too much. Let him know he's special. It's manflu after all. . Ps. When you've done all that, can you text my wife a similar set of instructions. I mean she has a teeny weeny sore throat and is making such a drama out of it, that she's hardly noticed me suffering quietly here...
Quite probably! the company started with a contract in the 80s doing the XJ6 electrics. I did 10 years as a project manager flying everywhere to GM, Saab, Alfa, Opel etc - nearly killed me - gave it all up!
http://manflu.info/womans_role/womans_role.htm Here's a link so she will understand how you are suffering...... (The snotometer may help)
My son is a dreadful hypochondriac....he suffers from googleitis (if you can google it, he's got it).
