I shall watch the remembrance service. Take time out on my own, listen to the last post & reflect on what went on with the long forgotten heroes of the past. Much braver men than I ever was.
Great post mate. I was feeling totally fed up after today's result, but it puts it into perspective to remember that so many men fought and died so that we could be free to stress out over things like our football team's performance, which is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
Billy ,being a mag I do not agree with most of what you say, but I have the utmost respect for you on this post. It puts everything into perspective with those brave men and (nearly) boys going over the top into certain death. Football not as important as some people like to think.
Don't beat yourself up mate, my assumptions of you are of a very brave man, that went and served his Country in very turbulent times. Enjoy tomorrow mate, I for one will be thinking of you..
I'm alright mate, I just like to reflect on remembrance Sunday. I imagine what my granda went through in WW1 at the Battle of the Somme. Over a million men dead in four months, utter carnage. He went down the pit at 12 & was in France at 17. After he came back from that hell he went straight back down the pit. I'm not sure I could have handled that.
Top post Billy mate . I'm also celebrating my lads 3rd birthday 3 days early by having a party. Those that know me well wil agree those 3 Years have flown by!!!
****ing hell mate, three years already! I dunno where the time goes pal. By the time new year passes mine will be 21, 14 & 10.
Scary isn't it mate. Time goes far too fast.its been the hardest 3 Years I could ever imagine but also the best x
I had 3 under five at one time. I had a stressful job but it was a piece of cake compared to looking after the kids. Bliddy hard work that.
**** off you. Why do you have to be such a top ****ing bloke yer ****. ****s sake man yer daft twat, you'll get me done away with for liking a mag.
I'm also shocked it's coming on three years for Tees little ones! Time goes far to quick these days...
I do and shall forever respect. I do however have a problem with the circus it has become. Pay your respects or **** off and say nowt..
I find it a little regimented that we have a day arranged for acknowledging these guys, I choose to acknowledge them every day, I'm grateful to be just Alive in this country and I try my best to be nice to people and help people who appear down, that's what they died and fought for, so we can be free, every day. We are free to live our lives but also free to help others like they all helped us. The survivors have been the foundations of this country for many years and shaped our futures for us, they laid the paths for us to walk on, I'm grateful every day to these guys. I do like that there's a day to give them special recognition though, I just think too many see it as a day where they can feel good about themselves if they wear a poppy.
****ing hippies and every other **** giving it big. It all feels false. Fick you Corbryn and your new labour. May a bug crawl into your ear and eat its way down and crawl out of your bellend.
Was in Church today for the RD service. Youngest daughter was carrying the flag for her Guide troop. Moving experience with quite a few vets there. Makes you think...
