The Gamebore building used to be the Rank's 'Blue Cross' animal feed mill. When I left school ('59), I got a job in Rank's offices on Great Union Street. Same yard at the back, but the offices were separated from the Clarence (flour) mill, by a red-brick pub on the corner. But between our office and the pub was a little cafe. Only open till late morning; only teas and hot cakes. Real Hull.
No - departments in their offices - BL was (I think) Bought Ledger. BK must have been Book Keeping or such.
Started off on post desk then spent several months in Wheat dept, Transport dept and Statistical dept which included Bought Ledger. After 23 years in the office transferred into the flour mill for the last 12.
I don't know Stan, I used to get mine at Stanton's café on St Andrews dock/Albert Dock, but they are long gone I believe.
